This project was just fun to create, we composed it utilizing two distinct visual mediums: 16mm film and a high-speed digital.
This project was just fun to create, we composed it exploring two distinct visual mediums: 16mm film and a high-speed digital.
For the creative, we shot almost entirely on a Bolex EL Mk I—one of the best run-and-gun 16mm rigs, perfectly suited for a project of this nature. The Bolex allowed us to work with minimal rigging and quick load/setup times, maximizing our shooting window. We still faced challenges, particularly in pushing the boundaries of what could be achieved without the latitude or attachment capabilities of a more studio-suited camera like the Arri 416 or SR3. But looking back, we were happy with the decisions we made to use the Bolex.
For the entire piece, we shot on two glass elements. The Kern Vario-Switar 12.5mm-100mm f2 Multicoated Zoom Lens, and a Kern-Paillard 10mm Switar T1.6 with a 5m

Been dusting off some old projects from the past couple of years… This one is it own space is very close to me. When @tristan.feinberg approached me in the fall of 2024, he spoke about an event that was meant to build culture, not only for the professionals, but one for the kids. An event that invites everyone into transition riding... not just the ones who grew up in thesport.
as someone who grew up in Philadelphia in smaller town, I didn't have much of place in in a space like this. But over the years, taz along with many others has shown me that you can be from anywhere and learn to love skiing. The event was not only about the community but art, expression, and a reminder to always be there for the people around you.
There's something really special about what Taz did here and will continue to do with this event. i've never seen so many kids with smiles on their faces. I can't wait to share more with you.

Been dusting off some old projects from the past couple of years… This one is it own space is very close to me. When @tristan.feinberg approached me in the fall of 2024, he spoke about an event that was meant to build culture, not only for the professionals, but one for the kids. An event that invites everyone into transition riding... not just the ones who grew up in thesport.
as someone who grew up in Philadelphia in smaller town, I didn't have much of place in in a space like this. But over the years, taz along with many others has shown me that you can be from anywhere and learn to love skiing. The event was not only about the community but art, expression, and a reminder to always be there for the people around you.
There's something really special about what Taz did here and will continue to do with this event. i've never seen so many kids with smiles on their faces. I can't wait to share more with you.
