This was a very fun and technically challenging commercial I shot a while back, that unfortunately never got finished. Sometimes this happens when the brand changes campaign strategy halfway through post :/ So we never got to see the finished result. There were a lot of VFX involved too which is why we shot the whole thing with motion control. Anyway, we still had a good time.

When DP @scotttolercollins needed a fast paced low camera rig with lights to capture a dog on the run, @randy_nolen had the answer with his AGITO Trax!
The problem:
Track a running dog, matching the speed, with three cameras and lights. As low as possible over 160ft on a blue screen stage.
The Solution:
Randy knew he would be able to configure and hard mount 3 cameras very low on his AGITO and once he had sourced the right amount of track it was just a case of a few tweaks in rehearsals to match the dogs speed.

This was a very special project I directed for @djiglobal a brand I’ve long been a fan of. They just launched the Mic Mini 2, along with a series of interchangeable front covers beautifully designed by artist @victongai whom I’m also a fan of. Victo’s distinct style is incredibly imaginative, richly detailed, and often quite intricate. Her challenge for this project, though, was translating that vast imagination onto such a small canvas — a wearable canvas designed to inspire creativity in others. Victo certainly inspired all of us while making this.

Jayson wanted it to feel like one of those inflight safety instruction videos, with a touch of whimsy. Special thanks to @nanlite_global for making quite possibly my favorite lighting unit ever, the #pavoslim240cl which I used on almost every setup. I tired to get 30 of those for another production last year… but that’s a story for a future post.
The challenge: Stay perfectly parallel with a dog running the whole length of a 120’ long blue screen (160’ of dolly track.)
The solution: Tile three 8K cameras to make a fast moving 24K panorama. Extract the perfect 4K frame later and motion track it to stay centered on the dog.
