For What Slips Beneath the Sugar’ fabricated by @barnabymakes , formed this ghost from a single sheet of mild steel - reflecting everything, never fully resolving.

I kept returning to the figure at the table - the one who made, gathered, offered.

Both me, and not me. Host and absence. Surface and shadow. A cumulative figure given body.

‘Skeleton Chair No. 5’ from forged steel and goat leather.

Made for an exhibition at @saatchiyates curated by @isamayaffrench for the opening of @studioiron_ . The exhibition runs for the month and is well worth a visit!

I showed three pieces; ‘the fallen caryatid’ is forged from mild steel sheet with a burnt and stained maple top. This was a piece I reworked recently having been sitting with it for a couple of years unsure how best to finish it, It is a study after Rodin’s sculpture of the same name. The candelabra andmirror are heavily forged from solid bars, these are from recent developments in di making for my blacker hammer which are being helped along by @luciensylvester

Made this piece for the exhibition ‘scrap’ curated by @bewilderhythmic on the weekend. Was a really great exhibition and lovely to see Bermondsey’s empty infrastructure being put to such good use. Keep an ear out for more to come.
