I’ve been really loving my wind down cocktail sessions lately. It’s a simple thing that brings me a lot of joy. Around sunset, I put on my puffy slippers, I pick out a record, and play with a recipe.
Sometimes I’ll pick a spec from my long list of cocktails I’ve been wanting to try, sometimes I just look at what’s at my bar and experiment, and sometimes I’ll just make my go-to-tried-and-true (which is generally a Penicillin or some kind of mezcal marg riff). This time was a look at what you got and make what sounds good.
So, for my Billie Holiday Wind Down Cocktail Sesh, I whipped up a pleasant whiskey, lemon, orgeat and lavender delight.

2 oz Bourbon (@homebasespirits)
0.75 oz Fresh Lemon Juice
0.5 oz Orgeat (@smallhandfoods)
3 Dashes of Lavender Bitters (@allthebitter)

Combine all in a cocktail shaker. Add ice. Shake to chill. Serve over fresh ice in a rocks glass.

A true labor of love is making a fancy and delicious cocktail for your special someone. 🤌🏻

LABOR OF LOVE

2 oz @tequilazarpado Blanco Tequila
0.5 oz Fresh Lime Juice
0.5 oz Fresh Lemon Juice
1 oz Mixed Berry Syrup
1 oz Heavy Cream
1 Egg White
3 Drops of Orange Flower Water
2-3 Club Soda

Combine all (excluding club soda) into a cocktail shaker. Dry shake to get texture and frothiness. Add ice and shake to chill. Fine strain into a Collin’s glass, then slowly pour in the club soda. Garnish with a berry cocktail pick.

Midnight Special ✨ 
0.75 oz @tequilazarpado Reaper Tequila
0.75 oz @tequilazarpado Reposado Tequila
0.5 oz @mrblackspirits Mr. Black Coffee Liqueur
0.25 oz Cinnamon Syrup
2 Dashes of Orange Bitters

Combine all ingredients into a mixing glass. Add ice and stir to chill. Use a smoke top to smoke a chilled coupe glass. Then strain into the final glass. Garnish with orange zest.

KAITEUR SWIZZLE 👌🏻

I’m on my yearly kick of Polynesian pop! 😂 And that usually comes with my favorite finds from Smuggler’s Cove. I absolutely love exploring this book, everytime I do, I learn something new and find more treasure. If you’re a fan of tiki, this is a must-have book to have at your bar. Gear up for a lot of tropical drinks coming your way, friends 🫡

KAITEUR SWIZZLE
2 oz Blended Aged Rum
0.75 oz Fresh Lime Juice
0.5 oz Maple Syrup
0.5 oz Velvet Falernum Liqueur
2 Dashes of Angostura Bitters

Combine ingredients into a Collins glass. Fill 3/4 of the glass with crushed or pebble ice. Using a bar spoon or swizzle stick, swizzle it up. Top with more crushed ice. Garnish with a sprig of mint and lime wheel. (Should have a swizzle napkin as well, but I didn’t have any on hand 🤷🏻‍♀️)

Everyone needs this @stgeorgespirits Green Chile Mule in their life. A simple combo of perfection. I’m pretty sure this is going to be my drink of the summer this year 👌🏻

GREEN CHILE MULE
2 oz St. George Green Chile Vodka
3 oz Ginger Beer
0.5 oz Fresh Lime Juice

Shake vodka and lime with ice, then strain into a copper mug over fresh crushed ice. Top with ginger beer and garnish with lime.
