On the 24th, we will welcome Chef Sun Kim @sunkimchi of Meta @metasingapore —an admired peer and a longtime friend. Meta currently holds Two Michelin Stars and has been recognized with Two Knives from The Best Chef Awards.

What began as a connection built on mutual respect now takes form in a menu shaped by our individual paths, bringing together two contemporary Asian perspectives.

Meta, short for metamorphosis, is defined by change—a philosophy we both share in our own journeys as chefs. This dinner becomes a reflection of that ongoing evolution, brought together for one evening at Celera.

Born in Busan and raised in Seoul, Sun Kim @sunkimchi began his journey in his mother’s gamja-tang eatery, where his understanding of Korean flavors first took shape.

At 26, he moved to Sydney to train under Tetsuya Wakuda at Tetsuya’s, later continuing this mentorship at Waku Ghin in Singapore—experiences that refined his technique and perspective.

In 2015, he opened Meta @metasingapore . Since then, the restaurant has earned two Michelin stars and a place on Asia’s 50 Best Restaurants, reflecting a cuisine rooted in Korean heritage and shaped by global experience.

Today, his work continues to reinterpret Korean flavors with clarity and intention—grounded in where it all began.

We’re grateful for the excitement around this collaboration, and we look forward to having you with us on the 24th.

For a restaurant this young, it already feels like a big moment. A reminder that the work we pour into each day is finding its way.

Celera has always been about people — our team who show up every day with excitement and heart, our suppliers and producers whose work shapes every dish we put out, and the guests who choose to spend their evenings with us.

To begin the journey like this means a lot. We’re proud to represent the Philippines alongside so many inspiring restaurants across Asia, and honored to now be part of the @theworlds50best community.
