Growing from strength to strength!

I never hesitate recommending Meta to friends who are passing by, even if they only have 1 or 2 nights in Singapore.

US has Atomix, Paris has Soon Grill, Singapore has Meta..

That confidence isn’t reckless. Fine Korean cuisine is patiently dominating the world. The rise is carried by the current generation of Korean chefs, well trained, unapologetic in showcasing Korean cuisine, with an acute grasp of today’s culinary evolution (some say revolution). Chef Sun Kim is one of them.

Precision, evident the inspirations that line Meta’s thoughtful menu. The core and aesthetic of each course always Korean, the style meticulous, the build purposeful, the outcomes called for way too many pictures - guilty (judge me but look at the courses yourself), the flavours creative and impressionable.

New snacks (as least from my last visit). Some whispered, some smashed. That “Beef Toast” constructed with Sea Urchin, Kimchi and Gochujang should be illegal. Deceptively rogue looking, that column of texture and taste was engineered.

The signature Meta Oyster never fails to be a talking point at the table. Chef Sun’s use of different seafood across the menu was lyrical. The course for me this meal had to be the Bibim Guksu. The spicy from fermented chili was unmistakable but pleasant, the sturdy noodles carried the flavours with each slurp. The cold, which was just right, accurately managed the heat allowed on the palate.

The main course of Hanwoo paired with Spring Peas Rice was slick. Brown-red on green, savoury on grassy, how restraint I was - only one bowl of rice.

A lovely and lively meal at Meta. Am I a fan, yup, as big as I am! What’s better than a meal at Meta? A meal at Meta with some amazing and straight-shooting company! Love this couple…

On the 24th, we will welcome Chef Sun Kim @sunkimchi of Meta @metasingapore —an admired peer and a longtime friend. Meta currently holds Two Michelin Stars and has been recognized with Two Knives from The Best Chef Awards.

What began as a connection built on mutual respect now takes form in a menu shaped by our individual paths, bringing together two contemporary Asian perspectives.

Meta, short for metamorphosis, is defined by change—a philosophy we both share in our own journeys as chefs. This dinner becomes a reflection of that ongoing evolution, brought together for one evening at Celera.

For one evening in Manila.
We hope you can join us.

**sold out 🙏🏻
