Bathhouse Flatiron, by New York studio @RockwellGroup, was transformed from a Manhattan parking garage into a sophisticated destination for relaxation and socialising. The second Bathhouse outpost to open in NYC invites patrons into a communal space where they can move between hot and cold pools, just like the Greeks and Romans did two millennia ago. But unlike the bathhouses of antiquity, the interiors here are intriguingly dark and futuristic, more akin to a stylish nightclub than classical thermae.⁠

Last night's "Illuminating Wellness" Be Originals @beoriginalamericas panel Dexelance NYC Flagship was a deep dive into the intersection of lighting, sustainability, and human experience. It was an incredible panel! We discussed why light is the ultimate tool for designing a better space and life and how lighting supports a variety of neurodiverse spaces and circadian rhythm in the office and at home. We also touched on how the selection of quality, timeless fixtures, with recycled content and with replaceable parts can support circularity and reuse. Honored to contribute lighting design for the JR Takanawa Zero Site, led by creative director Abilio Hagihara (Aide) and architect TANSEISHA Co., Ltd.

The main feature, a luminous ceiling crafted by Yagi-Kozai, reinterprets the rhythm of a stepping stone garden. Powered by Endo Synca’s color-changing LEDs, it shifts with seasons, activities, and time of day. Flexible perimeter lighting and an interactive installation by RGB add layers of expression and engagement.
