Drawing on the aesthetics of Japanese bamboo craft, Boa Table by Stefan Diez from Herman Miller reimagines the conference table with sustainable materials and a lightweight, adaptable design. Produced using renewable energy, its aluminum base contains at least 75% post-consumer recycled content, offering a sustainable solution that doesn’t compromise on design integrity.

One of my favorite kinds of projects—something totally custom and a little unexpected. 🌳
For this install with @bialeksocial I created two oversized arches and added five different varieties of moss to bring their “Thriving by Design” concept to life.
They wanted it to be sustainable and unique; I wanted more.
I wanted it to be organic, multi-dimensional, and feel immersive. Oh, and of course it had to have insane reproduction quality; thank you to @wpe_printing for making that happen.
Projects like this are my favorite because they push creativity far past traditional backdrops and balloons and into true event design.
Give me the “out there” ideas, the bold concepts, the “can we even do that?” moments… that’s my sweet spot. That’s the “hold my glue gun, I’ve got this” space that makes my brain come alive.
Thanks to Emma at @bialeksocial for trusting me with such an important event. Loved our collab so very much!

We’re wrapping up our vendor spotlight series for Thriving by Design on April 23rd by highlighting partners pushing sustainability through smarter materials, lower carbon impact, and long-term design thinking.
@hermanmiller features the Mirra 2 Chair—>designed with an “earth-first” mindset and built to reduce environmental impact at every level. With up to 52% recycled content, 93% recyclability, and a 100% recycled nylon base and spine, the chair has been continuously refined to lower its carbon footprint while using fewer materials through a lightweight, dematerialized design.
@dirtt brings Timber—>a renewable building material that naturally sequesters carbon as it grows, locking it into the structure over time. Engineered wood systems like glulam and CLT reduce embodied carbon compared to steel or concrete, while DIRTT’s prefabrication approach minimizes waste and supports long-term adaptability and reuse.
@naughtone highlights the Truffle—>crafted using Bio-Pur® foam, a plant-based alternative that uses fewer fossil fuels than traditional foam. With nearly 70% recyclable content and a focus on reducing carbon through material innovation, it reflects a shift toward lower-impact, circular product design.
Each of these partners approaches sustainability differently, from circular product design to carbon-storing materials to low-waste construction systems. All are driving the industry forward.
Join us April 23rd to experience it all in person ♻️

We are proud to have supported the National League of Cities in the renovation of their Washington, DC HQ at 660 N Capitol Street—steps away from the U.S. Capitol and Union Station.
Spanning 33,654 square feet across the 4th and 5th floors, this project brought together both our Transaction Management and Project Management teams to deliver a refreshed, highly functional workplace aligned with the organization’s evolving needs.
Led by Mindy Saffer, LEED AP, Jonathan Harms, and LaMean Koroma on the transaction, alongside Christie Minch, Liz Wozny, and Brian Manion on project management, the team worked closely with partners to bring the vision to life.
We’re grateful to collaborate with an outstanding group of partners, including STUDIOS Architecture, Bognet Construction, and Bialek Environments, whose expertise helped ensure a seamless delivery.
This renovation reflects a continued focus on creating modern, flexible environments that support collaboration, efficiency, and long-term success.
Congratulations to everyone involved on a successful project.

MillerKnoll brand DatesWeiser is proof that responsible sourcing and uncompromising standards can go hand in hand.
In 2024, the brand shifted their inventory to FSC-certified materials without compromising the product quality their customers expect. The move significantly increased purchases of FSC-certified products at DatesWeiser and brought MillerKnoll closer to their goal for reaching 90 percent FSC-certified wood by FY2030.
