Happy 91st birthday Patrick Gleeson! For This Jazz Minute, we look at the remarkable career of longtime Bay Area synthesist, producer, composer, and electronic pioneer Patrick Gleeson, known for his groundbreaking work with Herbie Hancock — and as the founder of Different Fur Studios, a legendary San Francisco recording space that became a hub for innovation in music.

Different Fur Studios manager/engineer Grace Coleman and I are happy that yesterday we wrapped up approximately 140 hours of recording to create the audiobook for Mighty Real: A History of LGBTQ Music 1969-2000, which Viking will publish May 12. #lgbtqaudiobook #lgbtqmusic
