A few weeks ago at the @idac_expo Mumbai 2026, talking about the ROI of good interior design in workplaces, retail and hospitality with an esteemed panel of architects and design professionals.

We explored a really exciting shift happening in our industry right now: moving past the idea that lighting is just an electrical line item, and recognising it as a core driver of value. We talked about the magic that happens when lighting designers are trusted as early partners rather than late-stage problem solvers. When we collaborate from the conceptual stage, design is intentional, and actively lowers overall costs. It means a smarter layout with fewer fixtures, lower running bills, and a space that truly maximises the client's investment from day one.

It was a deeply fulfilling conversation that reminded me why I love doing what I do in the first place. Good design is not supposed to be a luxury or an afterthought. It is the very foundation of how we connect with spaces around us that we inhabit and experience.

“This one came in fast and we had very little time on the creative board with it but working with Narayan and bringing his vision to life has been so fulfilling for us. His vision is exemplary and his work speaks for itself. The mood was personal, nostalgic and deeply reflective, and that is exactly what we tried to cultivate with the lighting for his exhibition.”

What does it mean to light an exhibition that is a survey into the extraordinary history of textiles and garments of Bengal?

Principal Lighting Designer @ebyvm opens up about lighting ‘Textiles from Bengal: A Shared Legacy’ at the @kccinkolkata.

Working closely with the experienced team to relay the context of each piece within its larger narrative, while balancing preservation and presentation, our aim was always to take the viewer on an unforgettable journey through the incredible archives presented in this exhibition.
