KMRU affronta il tema dell’ecocidio attraverso una prospettiva basata sull’ascolto, integrando al field recording le interviste con gli abitanti dei territori osservati, in cui approfondisce racconti e miti legati al loro rapporto con gli ecosistemi.

Near Silence è un progetto prodotto e curato da ALMARE che esplora le “quiet areas”: zone rurali caratterizzate da basso inquinamento acustico, spazi in cui ascoltare gli effetti della crisi climatica.

Per questa residenza di ricerca abbiamo invitato KMRU, sound artist nato a Nairobi e residente a Berlino. KMRU affronta il tema dell’ecocidio attraverso una prospettiva basata sull’ascolto, integrando al field recording le interviste con gli abitanti dei territori osservati, in cui approfondisce racconti e miti legati al loro rapporto con gli ecosistemi.
