β¨CAT LUCK @shopcollarbone
βAs a non-binary designer, I strive to create work for all gender expressions that can be worn in a unique and playful way, bringing each wearer in touch with their higher self, true potential, and brilliance. The Crab being I created for this show is inspired by being a double cancer and a sensitive non-binary queer person navigating this binary heteronormative world.β
.
β¨Cecelia Plympton @cece_plympton
"This piece incorporates an artifact of my relationship with craft, this web-like silver shape. It comes from intuitive drawings that I would do during my first year of college, when some health issues made it difficult for me to focus on school. Drawing the paths and connections in this shape would visually reinforce my meditations on how I came to the position I was in, and decide how I wanted to continue creating. I use it now to honor the work I did then to make space in my life for a creative practice.β
.
β¨Crater Powers @craterverse
βMy practice revolves around abstracting the human form as a way of processing my queer embodiment. Iβm interested in creating objects that resist hegemonic modes of design that center cis-heteronormative identities and relationships. I explore how shared experiences of ostracization can act as a pathway to connection and can allow queer individuals to defy the suppression of their identities.β
.
β¨Danica Drago @danicadrago
"My practice as a tool and object maker is drawn towards investigating my own embodied
experiences of trans/gender expansiveness; through ceramic, metal, and various material
outcomes. This work is part of an ongoing series called Porous Binaries; a wearable visual vernacular of sculptural adornment objects, exploring the reconstruction of ideas and material language around gender, sexuality, and human biology.β

I have been hard at work manifesting a shop behind the scenes, and itβs finally coming to fruition! Things have been hard + challenging to say the least, so many curve balls βΎοΈ I could fill a ball pit π€£ππ, but what doesnβt kill you, makes you stronger and as my friend said: βIβm building πͺ some strong musclesβ!
Ok, back on track⦠First Phase: Collarbone Pop-Ups popped up outside the storefront, which I have been doing for a few months now on select weekends, and will do this weekend as well weather permitting!! Stay tuned!!
Second Phase: I am opening a Collarbone Jewelry Pop-Up Shop in Mid-June inside the shop! This will be a filled-to-the-brim with Collarbone + Cat Luck jewelry where I will bring in exciting NEW items + Collection Launches! This shop will last a few months or longer while the third phase gets worked on behind the scenes!
Third Phase: A more permanent curated jewelry + curious object shop featuring a curated rotation of artists from around the country, and maybe one day the world! Wow π€© Cat, that seems like a BIG BITE to chewβ¦. how exactly are you going to pull this off?? π«£Well, with the help of all of you and of course the π« UNIVERSE π«!! In other words, itβs going to take a village and some LUCK π + Miracles sprinkled in with some MAGIC πͺ to yield the right recipe for success, but we can get this off the ground flying in no time, and itβs going to be a really magical addition for Pittsburgh and beyondβ¦.
Especially in this tricky climate with so many small businesses closing their doors!!! Letβs keep small businesses, artists, queers, marginalized communities safe + thriving!!! Well, thatβs the plan, Stan. Hope to see you all at 4119 Butler Street soon!! Xoxo, Cat π» Luck π PS if you have any ideas π‘ or grants/ resources/ contacts/recommendations that might be helpful, please send me a DM!
