EDIT: Our next closure is 30th May - 8th June 2026. We will be fully closed the whole week so collections won’t be available. We will be back open on Tuesday 9th June and back to normal hours 💛

Every 5–6 weeks, we schedule a short studio shutdown period. This allows our team time to rest and reset, while we carry out essential kiln servicing and general studio maintenance.

You can view all our upcoming closures via our website by heading to ‘About’ → ‘Planning Your Visit’.

As a busy working studio, these closure weeks are important to ensure everything continues running smoothly and safely for our customers.

During shutdown periods, the studio is fully closed. This means collections, workshops, and pottery painting bookings will not be available.

If you are travelling to collect your pieces, please make sure to check our planned closure dates in advance.

Thank you for your understanding and continued support💛

✨ Big news! ✨

I’m so excited to finally share that I’m part of Series 8 of The Great Pottery Throw Down! 🎉 This has been the most incredible experience that I still fully can’t believe I’ve got the chance to be apart of! Working with clay alongside 11 of the most talented, creative, and downright lovely potters has been an absolute dream. Each of them brought such unique energy and skill, and I feel so lucky to now call them friends 💛🥰

The production team has been nothing short of amazing too! They’ve poured so much care and passion into making the show what it is. From the behind-the-scenes crew to the judges and hosts, every single person made this journey unforgettable✨

I’ve laughed, cried, and learnt more than I ever thought possible, and I am just so so grateful for this opportunity. Thank you to everyone who has supported me along the way, I can’t wait for you all to watch and join us on this clay filled adventure! 🏺💫

The series starts on Sunday 5th January, 7:45pm on Channel 4. Can’t wait to see you all there💫

AHHHHH I can’t bloody believe it🤩🤩🤩🤩

In memory of our beautiful friend Zoe🌻

10 years ago in August, we lost a very special person. Ever since her passing, Zoe’s family host a football tournament around her birthday, bringing people together to celebrate her life and raise money for two incredible charities: @lovejasminesupport and @ifucareshare

This year, @thezoetynantournament will take place on 16th May at Jericho Lane Football Hub, and we’re raising funds through a raffle packed with amazing prizes. These are just some of the prizes you can win if you enter the raffle:

✨Signed football shirts
✨£500 cash
✨Nintendo switch 2 bundle
✨Free pottery workshop

🎟 Raffle tickets are £1 each

🎟 £5 = a full book of raffle tickets + you get to pick a FREE pottery item

We’ll be selling raffle tickets at the studio on:
Saturday 9th May & Sunday 10th May | 10AM - 5PM

The free pottery includes pieces that haven’t been collected, as well as donated work from our amazing local potters and Clay Workshop members 💛

Every ticket sold helps support families dealing with unimaginable loss and raises awareness around suicide prevention. If you can’t make it but would still like to support, drop us a message, every bit helps.

Thank you 💛

An end of an era at Arrad Street 🥹

We’ve officially handed the keys back to our very first proper Clay Workshop studio…and wow, it’s really made me pause and reflect.

Before Arrad Street, I started running workshops back in September 2024 in a shared studio with other artists. It was such a lovely creative space, but freezing cold and definitely not ideal for ceramics 😂 Still, it’s where the idea really started to take shape.

I’d always had this dream of creating a pottery studio where I could share the magic of clay. After a lot of research (and a lot of hope), I reached out to @kingstrust to see how they could support young entrepreneurs. Me and Jim had no money to get this off the ground, so their support genuinely made it possible. After long days teaching at college, I’d come home and spend hours working on business plans and figuring out what I wanted Clay Workshop to be.

Then we found the Annexe on Hope Street…and I’ll never forget that first viewing. I’d never had a studio of my own before, so being offered that space honestly felt like a dream come true.

Arrad Street was small, way too small for what we do now, but at the time it felt HUGE. And more importantly, it’s where everything began. Starting with just 4 people in a workshop, slowly building a community, figuring things out as we went. From late nights building tables and wiring electrics, it all grew into what Clay Workshop is today.

It’s crazy to think how much has happened in just a year and a half! We’ve worked so hard (and still do), but we absolutely LOVE it and wouldn’t change any of it! Getting to do this as a job and share pottery with you all, really is the best feeling💛

We’ve now moved into a bigger member space, which is so exciting, but leaving Arrad Street feels big. It’s where the foundations were built, where the risks were taken, and where this little idea became something real!

And truly, we wouldn’t be here without you. Every single person who’s booked a workshop, supported us, got stuck in with clay, thank you. You’ve helped build this 🥰

Here’s to another chapter💛✨

If you’ve ever joined us for a pottery painting session at Clay Workshop, you might’ve spotted a little handmade touch to our paint palettes 🤔

That’s because we made them ourselves! Because honestly, why use plastic when you can paint from handmade ceramics instead? 😉✨

We had such a gorgeous session this weekend with this lovely bunch from @yogacitaliverpool 🧘‍♀️🎨✨

Kel got in touch to organise a social for their yoga community and chose our Mug Maker Workshop, and what a choice it was! Everyone created such gorgeous pieces. I can’t wait to get them fired and glazed to see the finished results✨

Thank you so much for spending your time with us and for supporting Clay Workshop. We absolutely love collaborating with local independent businesses and bringing creative experiences to different communities, it really does mean a lot 💛

If you’re looking to organise a team social, group booking or something a little different, just drop us an email! We’d love to have you in the studio.

Before ➡️ After

Pottery painting can look a little dull in colour before pieces go into the kiln… but just wait for the glow up ✨

Once they’ve been glaze fired, the colours completely transform and really pop 💥

This is because underglazes are formulated with ceramic pigments that fully develop at high temperatures. During the firing, the clear glaze melts into a glass like layer over the surface, which deepens the colour, adds shine, and makes everything look richer and more vibrant.

It’s always a bit of kiln magic✨
