50 years of The King’s Trust - and what an honour to celebrate it with the incredible ambassadors who stand beside us.

For half a century, The King’s Trust has supported over 1.3 million young people across the UK to build confidence, gain skills and create brighter futures. Today, some of our amazing celebrity supporters are helping us mark this milestone with a message straight from the heart.

From first steps to life‑changing journeys, their voices reflect what our mission is all about: breaking down barriers and opening doors for young people.

Here’s to 50 years of impact and the next 50 still to come.

From £7,400 in Royal Navy severance pay to a movement that has supported over 1.3 million young people and generated at least £11.4 billion of social value - our story is one of determination, resilience, and hope.

For 50 years, The King’s Trust has helped young people build confidence, gain skills, and move into work, education, or training.

Today, the challenges may have changed, but our mission remains the same: to ensure no young person is held back by unemployment
Thank you to every staff member, volunteer, partner, and supporter who has made this possible — and to all the young people whose courage inspires us every day.

When the opportunity to have a garden party at Buckingham Palace to celebrate 50 years as the UK’s leading youth charity arose, there was only one thing to do: put young people at the heart of it. Something we’ve done since 1976.

Planning for today began last year, when young creatives were given the floor to imagine what a ‘youth takeover’ at Buckingham Palace could look like. These ideas became reality, and today our young people brought the garden to life with their incredible skills and talents, making this a 50th anniversary celebration like no other. 

We’re incredibly grateful to Our Royal Founding President, His Majesty The King and everyone who made today possible – especially the young people who made it unforgettable. 😊

Today, his award‑winning business creates clean drinking water from air, cutting plastic waste and bringing safe water to remote communities 💧

Driven by what he saw growing up in Nigeria, Oluchukwu joined our Sustainable Enterprise Challenge programme with a bold idea.
