This week, our Research Impact Fellow, Cora Taylor, travelled from Devon to #Dorset to help restore the Cerne Abbas Giant — a 180-foot chalk figure carved into the hillside, believed to date back to the late Saxon period 🪏

The landmark now needs more regular restoration work as warmer, wetter weather accelerates vegetation growth, algal build-up, and erosion, dulling the chalk surface.

Climate change doesn’t always look like major catastrophes - like blazing wildfires or hurricanes 🔥

Sometimes, it looks like the gradual changing of historic landscapes and slow loss of cultural heritage.
