When she first starred in the play ‘Prima Facie’, #JodieComer was 29 and had never done theatre before: “I was very anxious, very aware that people were thinking, ‘Is she going to be able to do this?’” Four years later, there is no question of her ability to master the material, but she has changed in other ways too. “I have more confidence, I know myself more,” she says. “I feel that when you’re playing a character with certain attributes, you are forced to touch upon, discover and illuminate those parts of yourself. They might be parts you’ve neglected, or that don’t feel very present in your day-to-day. That assuredness and confidence that Tess has – I found it easier to connect with those attributes.”

Whether she’s turning heads in Hollywood blockbusters or captivating audiences on stage, @jodiemcomer has the Midas touch, portraying complex characters with uncommon emotional depth. Coming off a succession of acclaimed projects – including her tour de force performance in the legal drama ‘Prima Facie’ – she tells Gavanndra Hodge why she’s ready for a reset, in the June issue of Bazaar UK.

Against the gorgeous Gilded Age setting of New York’s Frick Museum, @louisvuitton presented its cruise collection last night, in front of a star-studded audience that included Emma Stone, Zendaya, Cate Blanchett, Emily Blunt, Alicia Vikander, Hoyeon and Anne Hathaway. That’s what’s called winning at the front row. The power of this brand is unrivalled, and in a week where both Dior and Gucci showed in the US, designer Nicolas Ghesquière came to stamp his authority all over things. Of course, he’s been at LV for 13 years while the others were offering up their cruise debuts, but this was a master at work.

“I think of fashion, especially for the red carpet, much like acting: it’s a chance to transform and step into a different character. There’s always a sense of storytelling in the look and overall vibe, which helps me step onto the carpet with confidence.”

#MikeyMadison’s breakout role arrived in 2016 in the form of FX’s ‘Better Things’, a comedy-drama series that ran until 2022. In just 10 years since then, the actress has been cast in Quentin Tarantino’s ‘Once Upon a Time in Hollywood’, won a Best Actress Oscar and a BAFTA for her role in 2024’s ‘Anora’ and, later this year, will star as whistleblower Frances Haugen in ‘The Social Reckoning’, sequel to 2010’s ‘The Social Network’. Outside of acting, Madison was one of the first @dior ambassadors to be appointed by Jonathan Anderson when he joined the fashion house and, as a result, she now rarely wears another label for red carpet events.

Last week, Anderson’s very first Cruise collection was staged in LA. Just after the show, we spoke to the actress about her choice of outfit, her relationship with her stylist, Andrew Makumal, and the best beauty advice she’s ever been given. Read more at the link in our bio.

A year with Lubaina Himid. The brilliant artist gave Bazaar’s features director Helena Lee unprecedented access to join her and her partner Madga Stawarska over the course of 12 months, as she embarked on the biggest creative journey of her career: representing Britain at the Venice Biennale – the ‘Olympics of the art world’. In these exclusive pictures, photographed in Himid’s Preston studio spaces for our June issue, she stands before the paintings, which all feature two characters in an act of creating, and that comprise her show ‘Predicting History: Testing Translation’. It’s a presentation that, she tells us, ‘is about what home is’. ‘I think people do live their whole lives in a new place that doesn’t work for them,’ Himid says. ‘It’s about how you survive through making whether it’s making food or clothes, or something that grows. Making dreams.’ As Lee writes: ‘The characters seem to encapsulate a sequence of migration that is rarely talked about: the unseen struggle, the pride in growing a life, the inevitability of getting it wrong. And it makes me wonder: who defines what is right?’

Last night @gucci took over New York City’s Times Square for their Cruise show. Mariah Carey, Kim Kardashian, Iman and Stormzy were all sat front row for Demna’s debut resort show, but the runway was just as starry with Paris Hilton, Cindy Crawford and Emily Ratajkowski walking.

The first episode of #Rivals concludes with a dedication to Jilly Cooper, pictured reclining on a chaise longue, wearing fishnets, a very low-cut top and a mischievous expression: a total fox. Filming for this series had started before she died following a fall at home in October 2025. “Jilly had had a lovely summer party in her garden that we all went to again – the best champagne, the best desserts: a true Cotswolds experience… I can’t believe she’s gone,” #NafessaWilliams says. “It was so beautiful to witness someone in their eighties making their dreams come true. Not only did she get a show, she got a fucking second season! It reminds you to never stop dreaming. You have to give it to her – Jilly really lived her life.”

As Jilly Cooper’s very English Eighties extravaganza returns to our screens, the American actress spills the tea on set life for @bazaaruk’s May digital cover.

“Cameron’s a funny fish – she’s vulnerable, but also the strongest woman in the world, and I can’t quite ever predict what she’s going to do next,” #NafessaWilliams says of her #Rivals character, Cameron Cook. “She doesn’t know where her life stands. Her whole existence has been shaped by Tony – and now, he wants revenge.” The actress has relished the character development. “I found peeling off those layers exciting – you don’t want to always play one level, and us women aren’t permanently strong and put-together. Real life hits and we have to deal with it. But Cameron’s always 10 steps ahead. She can play the game better than the men. Take away the sexiness and the glamour, and she’s just a really smart, sharp person. Us East Coast girls are determined, fearless and when we want something, we go and get it,” the Philadelphia-born screen star says.
