Mekayla is a mixed (Colombian/white) queer woman from the unceded Payómkawichum land, also known as North County San Diego. Her dedication to collective liberation is what grounds her work and how she navigates the world.
Mekayla pours much of her time into her organization @reimaginingourfuturesd which facilitates mutual aid exchanges (aka ‘free stores’), educational discussions and teach-ins, as well as social and art related events.

Cyanotype Printing - March 26, 2026

What a great way to welcome back longer days, use the light of the sun in this cool printmaking technique we love so much. Experiment with silhouettes and transparency, being objects or stencils from home or take a nature walk for your materials.

We have a lil last minute show put together by @gianinabianca_at The Brown Building.

Join us for a night of incredible music from some world-class local and touring DJs.

We’ll be at the Good Faith Holiday Market this upcoming Thursday!

I’ll have a variety of zines, books, plants, clothing and more available for some last minute shopping.

It’s also a great opportunity to connect with us directly about volunteer opportunities, booking the space, or helping us out with a one time or ongoing donation.

Quartyard is located at 1301 Market Street in Downtown San Diego.

This venue is outdoors and wheelchair accessible but parking is often limited. Please dress warmly!

TOMORROW we welcome @sunjellyband @i.am.echinacea and @demandlessofficial to The Brown Building. Come thru for a great night of music.

As always our space is ALCOHOL FREE and open to all ages.

We’ve got plenty of tables and chairs as well as easels, tarps, a desktop computer, fast wifi, printer, sewing machine, a screen printing press, photography backdrops, and more.

We also have a variety of drinks (including hot tea and coffee) and snacks if you get a little parched while working.
