We, (@robocolo + @kentandreasen) traveled to Uganda, specifically to the Rwenzori Mountains, last year for @hardpackmagazine second issue. We wanted to explore the area and meet with the BaKonzo tribe, who call the foothills of Mt. Margherita their home, and delve into their belief structure around the mountain and the natural world they inhabit. We wanted to pose the question: what happens to the mystic, gods, and beliefs once the snow disappears completely?

Mt. Margherita is the third-highest glacial mountain after Kilimanjaro and Mt. Kenya, and like its bigger “brothers,” the future of these snow-capped regions is under threat from climate change and global warming. The BaKonzo tribe has many traditions tied to the mountain peaks, as well as the lower ecosystems of the range that change quite drastically the higher you go up, from thick jungle to bamboo forest and so on.

We spoke with the incredibly knowledgeable Prof. Stanley Baluku, who gave us an extensive history of the area, both from his studies and personal accounts of living in the area. He has subsequently passed away, and the film and images will be dedicated to his hard work as a custodian of the BaKonzo people and his willingness to share it with us.

The aim is to make a second trip, for which we are looking for funding, so that we can summit the peak and get additional footage of the area. The final goal would be to present it as a multimedia piece in a gallery, with both the stills and videos living alongside each other. If you are someone who could be interested in helping with either, please do get in touch.

Grab a copy of Hard Pack Issue 2 and read the article on this work entitled “One Hundred Calls From Moonroof.”

Thanks to Zach, Brendan, Ken, Eric, and Livingstone for making this trip possible.

One continent that has eluded me all this time has been South America.
Not due to lack of wanting or trying, but it just has never lined up.
But earlier this year it finally did, and I got to set foot in a small area in Patagonia.
And what better way to experience this beautiful scenery than with my local @conievallese by my side.
While we were there we captured a small little something for the lovely team at @babaa. composition and sound by @ex_olympic

Celebrating the 100th anniversary of #FENDI, the House presents an unprecedented manifestation of feminine strength entwined with Italian craft entitled Fonderia Fendi — a collectible design showcase conceived by the Argentinian designer and artist Conie Vallese at @DesignMiami 2025.

In the spirit of a collective gesture and a nod to Italy’s decadent participation in the 1925 Decorative and Industrial Modern Arts exhibition in Paris, Vallese calls upon 5 Italian ateliers to fabricate one-of-a-kind FENDI pieces in bronze, ceramic, glass, carpet, and leather.

Evoking “Les Cinq Doigts d’une Main”, a 1994 illustration by #KarlLagerfeld representing the 5 Fendi sisters as the protagonists of a single
creative expression, Vallese’s romantic designs are brought to life in collaboration with FENDI’s own leather workshops, the historic Milanese bronze foundry @Fonderia_Battaglia, the ceramic studio @OfficineSaffi.Lab, carpet weavers @CC_Tapis, and the 13th century Venetian glass studio @BarovierToso.

Fendi presents Fonderia Fendi by #ConieVallese
curated by @danthawley

Special thanks to @silviaventurinifendi

Old in body, young in spirit, Luigi and Tosca feel like a Zio and Zia I can drop in on for tea and biscuits at a moment’s notice. On one of my first visits, Tosca grabbed my arm and showed me a framed note. In it, Luigi had solemnly promised never to collect stones again. Tosca laughed: “How naive of me.” The note is dated May 17th, 1988. Nearly four decades later, we stand together, surrounded by the monument his stones have become

To hear Luigi speak about his work is to hear poetry. To step into their home is to step into a world of wonder: his patient, introspective sifting through mountains of rocks, Tosca’s warmth and wit grounding it all in daily life. Rarely have I met someone so devoted to a single mission: a life-long dialogue with stones, rivers, and time itself.

There is still one room I wasn’t allowed to enter. Who knows what lies waiting there, though a good guess would be more rocks.

Thank you, Luigi and Tosca, for opening all the other rooms, and for trusting me to tell this story.

Thanks to @ranra_studio, Arnar and Luke.
Thank you Johannes for talking through the ideas.

We’re so thrilled to receive the Creative Vision Award at ONA in Venice — still taking it all in.
Working on this remarkable project gave us space for creativity, adventure, and the full spectrum of highs and lows. To see it transform into such a memorable and emotive piece has been a truly beautiful experience. It captures the essence of how we love to create: intuitively, allowing ideas to flow and evolve naturally.
A heartfelt thank you to everyone who made this possible, and to ONA for an unforgettable few days on San Servolo — the setting, the program, the judges, and the atmosphere were all magic.

A beautiful trip to Sicily last year for @mariacarlaboscono and @claudio.pv’s wedding.
Sure was fun running around with @nicoloterraneo each with a bolex in hand, coupled with some very wide glass. Thanks for bringing me along.
