Illuminating Traditions Since 1903
Danish lighting company framing meaningful and beautiful living based on proud traditions and classic designs #LYFA

SAVE THE DATE! @3daysofdesign
This year, LYFA presents ‘Heritage, Unfolded’, an exhibition exploring how heritage continues to evolve through contemporary perspectives, materials, and light. Rooted in our design history yet open to new interpretations, the exhibition unfolds as a layered dialogue between past and present.
Hosted within the historic former Royal Pharmacy, visitors are invited to a curated environment where materiality and atmosphere come together. During the exhibition, we will present new design releases, including a new collection designed by GamFratesi and a pendant originally created in 1955 by Simon P. Henningsen.
On Thursday from 2–3 PM, join us for ‘Design Introduction, by GamFratesi’ — a special presentation where @gamfratesi will share thoughts on design and introduce new releases.
We look forward to welcoming you!
Join us:
10–12 June · 9AM–6PM
Bredgade 73, 1260 Copenhagen

Introducing FUTÉ / Pendant TIPP
An inverted interpretation of GamFratesi’s FUTÉ design, balancing softness and structure through a refined interplay of canvas and metal. The suspended form brings a light and elegant presence to the space, while the carefully considered materials create a tactile expression that feels both delicate and defined.

Originally introduced as a series of three table lamps, FUTÉ now evolves into a complete lighting family of nine designs — extending across portable, table, pendant, and wall & ceiling formats.
From the compact and portable FUTÉ 180 to new larger pendants and architectural applications, the collection grows while preserving its essence: a refined balance of canvas, ceramic, and metal, shaped by @gamfratesi’s approach to functionality.
Softly diffused light to shape atmosphere across different spaces.

NINOTCHKA, designed by Bent Karlby in 1954, is a genuine and easily recognizable icon. Inspired by the sculptural hat worn by Greta Garbo in the 1939 film Ninotchka, its organic form and asymmetric drapes translate a moment of fashion into a lasting lighting design.
Across the family, the open-top construction provides diffused uplight and even, direct downlight, creating a balanced and atmospheric lightscape. A study in contrasts that continues to define Karlby’s distinctive design language.

Bent Karlby (1919–1998) stands as one of Denmark’s most versatile lighting designers of the 20th century. His collaboration with LYFA began in the 1940s and continued for nearly four decades — shaping a legacy defined by innovation and clarity of vision.
Known for his soft light, organic shapes, and hallmark peepholes, Karlby continuously evolved his design language, later exploring pure geometric forms such as cones, cylinders, and arcs, often combined with playful colours.
Working independently throughout his career, he remained uncompromising in his approach. Today, his designs — from PEANUT and MOSAIK to NINOTCHKA, PAN, and beyond — continue to define a distinct chapter in Danish lighting. Find his pieces at LYFA.com
