@thewildrobot is now a gorgeous animated film from @dreamworks and it just opened in the UK. Maybe I’m biased, I don’t know, but I think everyone should go watch #thewildrobotmovie and also read #thewildrobot book that inspired the movie (published in the UK by @piccadilly.press and @bonnierbooks_uk). J’ai adoré ce livre! 😍

J’avais vu au cinéma l’adaptation du premier tome qui s’appelle « Robot sauvage » et j’avais beaucoup aimé. J’avais très envie de lire la suite des aventures de Roz et je suis content de l’avoir fait.

Après avoir intégré une ferme dans laquelle elle doit travailler, Roz pense toujours à sa vie d’avant. Elle se lie d’amitié avec les enfants du fermier en espérant que ceux-ci l’aident à s’enfuir une fois le moment venu afin qu’elle puisse retourner sur son île et retrouver ses amis.

J’ai adoré découvrir cet auteur, il nous fait voyager à travers sa plume.
Les images présentes dans le livre nous aident à nous repérer dans les lieux traversés par Roz.
Les chapitres sont très courts, ce qui fait que je l’ai dévoré. Les titres rendent bien compte de ce qui se passe dans chaque partie.

L’amitié est très bien représentée dans ce livre.
Tout au long de son périple, Roz ne pense qu’à ses amis, quitte à se mettre en danger. Tout ce qu’elle veut c’est les retrouver.
Ça parle aussi de nature, d’animaux et de liberté. Ce sont des thèmes passionnants.

Je recommande ce livre à ceux qui aiment les romans d’aventure qui parlent d’amitié et dans lesquels il y a du suspense.

10 years ago today THE WILD ROBOT was published by @littlebrownyoungreaders. Since then I’ve written two more children’s novels in the series, plus I created a big, illustrated Wild Robot picture book. Oh and there was that gorgeous animated film from @dreamworks, too. To celebrate all this good stuff we’re releasing a new collectors edition of the original book, coming out on May 5 (but you can preorder now wherever books are sold). I redesigned and reillustrated the cover with lots of snazzy gold foil details (including sprayed edges), I illustrated new endpapers, I added color to all of the interior illustrations (which were originally black and white), I wrote a new author’s note and added new bonus behind-the-scenes pages at the end. As the author of The Wild Robot series I read a lot, especially about robotics + artificial intelligence, and this is without a doubt one of the most important books published in my lifetime. In NEXUS @yuval_noah_harari lays out the evolution of information + technology throughout human history, and explains how A.I. is unprecedented in the ways that it will change our lives. One thing is clear; we absolutely must have robust systems of checks + balances to keep this tech from spiraling completely out of control, but so far those systems aren’t in place. So we must pressure our political + tech leaders to step up now, while they still can. This book is so well researched + written that it would be a pure joy to read if the subjects weren’t so concerning. It’s vital that we are informed on these subjects, and I hope everyone reads NEXUS. The stakes could not be higher. #books #bookstagram #artificialintelligence #ai
