Join us tomorrow (Tues) night at 6:30p for an open level Pilates mat class with Nicole!

Pilates is a full body workout that focuses on core strength, mind-body connection and mobility.In this class you can expect breathwork, stretching and a good amount of abs, back, and hip (butt y'all!) exercises. Modifications to simplify or challenge the workout will be offered throughout.

Nicole has been teaching Pilates in studios and gyms around NYC since 2012. Having grown up in the LES she is excited to be back in Corlears sharing her love of movement and our special corner of the city.

Mats are provided but it is recommended to bring a towel for extra padding and support for when you're laying on your back.

Mulch available. Due to a misdelivery, we have a significant amount of mulch in the park that we will not use. If you need any for your personal gardens, please feel free to come and take some. The mulch is located in the flag pole area. Bring your own bucket!

This class is offered for free in collaboration with the Taylor Center for Dance Education, the educational branch of the Paul Taylor Dance Company.

Dance Cardio is an energetic and fun way to get moving! Each class begins with a low-impact warm-up and gradually builds into learning engaging dance routines designed to elevate your heart rate.

Friends of Corlears Hook Park is a volunteer group that raises funds to provide community programming and organizes clean-up and planting events.. As Lower East Siders, community-building is close to our hearts and capoeira is a beautiful way to bring people together. Join us tonight at 6pm for a special outdoor class where our instructor will be teaching a land-based dance class for movers and makers. It is an outdoor dance experience that expands our ideas of where and when dance takes place. Together we will open our senses to the terrain that surrounds us and explore how the natural world influences our breath, our movement, and our impulses. We will play with taking class on uneven surfaces while expanding our focus to the layers of trees, sky, and our urban landscape. All levels and abilities are welcome. Flexible footwear or thick socks encouraged for dancing on the grass

This class is being offered in collaboration with the Taylor Center for Dance Education, the educational branch of the Paul Taylor Dance Company, where lisa regularly teaches Adult Modern on Tuesday evenings, at Taylor Dance East.
