It was truly enriching to study, experiment, improvise, and record sounds from the Buchla 100, the first major synthesizer designed by Don Buchla [@buchlausa] from around 1963 to the early 1970s.

We also explored arpeggios on a smaller vintage version of the Buchla 200, paired with the custom DIY sequencer built by @diodetektor ⚡️

During the residency, our group crafted an immersive audio experience inside the Ambisonics dome, using sounds and soundscapes we captured around Laidi Palace. The piece blended on-site acoustic instruments with environmental and architectural textures.🏛️🔊

Over the weeks, we dived into spatial sound, gesture-based interaction, sound design techniques, and collective improvisation for immersive audio creation.

For the public presentation, we shared our final piece, followed by a collective improvisation inside the dome, exploring real-time processing, movement, gestures, and immersive sound diffusion. 🎧✨

It was an incredibly beautiful experience.
