BitNet01 è una crew artistica multidisciplinare attiva dal 2019 che esplora le connessioni tra musica elettronica e arti multimediali, coinvolgendo membri che si alternano nel tempo.

A Welcome 2 Da Future, Bienoise ha presentato una talk ispirata alla sua collaborazione audio-paper con Seismograf, intitolata “Whose voice is your voice?”.

Dall’MP3, prima tecnologia digitale capace di comprimere l’audio modellandolo su un ascoltatore umano “standard”, fino ai codec contemporanei basati sull’Intelligenza Artificiale, la ricerca analizza come oggi il suono venga ricostruito a partire da modelli predefiniti e ottimizzato per la voce. Questi sistemi imparano a distinguere tra rumore e voce e ricreano una versione sintetica dei suoni, spesso perdendo il contesto originale.

Da qui emergono alcune domande: di chi è davvero la voce che ascoltiamo? E quale idea di mondo viene restituita da questi modelli?

La talk esplora le conseguenze di questa trasformazione: una crescente uniformità del paesaggio sonoro, la perdita di suoni non umani e una maggiore distanza da un’esperienza acustica autentica, ma anche nuove possibilità creative che nascono proprio dall’uso imprevisto di queste tecnologie.

Alberto Ricca, alias Bienoise, compone computer music, con un particolare interesse per gli elementi non-musicali (rumore, errori e musica sepolta in essi), per la stimolazione di ascolto e contemplazione consapevole.
