I’ve had such a hectic week that I haven’t had the chance to share this amazing news! I made it into the Top 100 Braids and Twists for @behindthechair_com @oneshothairawards, a GLOBAL hair show! I didn’t know if I would make it this year bc there was so many beautiful designs being entered alongside mine! I’m incredibly thankful to be in the Top 100 and to be among so many talented braiders and artists. It’s unbelievable that I’ve had the opportunity to meet so many of these gifted individuals. Ahh, I’m so excited!

Shoutout to @braidsbybeckaa @queenofthesouth512 @jayybuggg_ @esthersbraids @queenatheartbraids @__thelasthairbender @braidsbyshorty @agnes_does_hair @bellas_blendzandbraids @officialhairbycoco @jenibraids44for all being Top 100! So happy for us!

Mannn….there I was; Braiding my client and watching a movie when I got a text that said CONGRATULATIONS and to check IG ASAP! (S/O @deadlysinfulbraidingco 🙏🏾) I paused, and when I opened IG I was SHOOK! I was able to place TOP 100 Braids & Twist 2023 for one of the BIGGEST AND GLOBAL HAIR SHOWS to date, @oneshothairawards @behindthechair_com !!!

I honestly couldn’t believe it, but I am soooo thankful! Plus it was great to see so some of my fellow braiders also place! Everyone had such amazing designs!

Now, I’ll be honest, this has definitely done something to my soul! Prior to the closing period for entries I was feeling a little down and out. I was finding myself questioning my own skill set, but I knew that if I didn’t at least enter that I would regret it! And I’m happy I did! Thank you so much @hinescb for allowing me to create this piece , and many others! (Fun Fact: After about a year of sitting in my chair, I found out @hinescb was my cousin!)

Definitely something that I’m proud of! And THANK YOU to everyone who has supported me, sat in my chair, or referred a client 🙏🏾🙏🏾

So I had to do it AGAIN with the @spurs logo! One thing I notice with a lot of braid designs is there’s usually an extra tail braided into another braid, which can take away from the REALISM of the logo or design. I wanted to challenge MYSELF and prove that it could actually be done clean… and guess what? I did exactly that. 👏🏽 ayye! I think my hands might be AI because this looks out of this world fr!!!

The inspiration actually came from a GSG logo I saw while walking through La Cantera — swipe to see it! Since I used the retro colors on my last #spurs braid design, I switched it up this time with the black and white color scheme to really make the logo pop! 🖤🤍
