In late 2025, our friends at @gravityrigs reached out with a dream project: building a central custom controller for @tomora —the new collaboration between Tom Rowlands (The Chemical Brothers) and Aurora.

As long-time fans of both, this felt like a massive responsibility and a total "dream come true" moment for the team. The goal was to build the heart of Tom’s mixing station for their live debut at Coachella 2026. Seeing it in action on that stage left us speechless (and definitely dancing).

In the video, Mat gives you a walkthrough of the unit we built—and yeah, it’s a big one!

@misterrichter (🇺🇲) is a producer/ writer and a guitarist for bands and artists such as @dijondijon_ and @mumfordandsons, among others.

He designed “B.O.P.”, his custom creation, around the PrimalTap plugin from @soundtoys. We were delighted to see it in action at @coachella 🎛️

Here, Ryan explains how he uses it: “I'm catching audio in primal tap, and then using that as a bed to improvise around. Track 1 is always my guitar, 2-5 are for other audio sources. Depending on the interface I use, I can capture the other band members’ audio and manipulate it in the same way. Kinda like King Tubby, but digital.”

“It's been a game changer for me! Before I was using an APC40, but I needed an extra surface to really do it all. Glad to have it all in one piece now.”

The first two years of living abroad have been intense, among many other things. I’ve tried to learn to trust myself and the process, learn not to rush (considering I haven’t stoped working, moving, and gathering docs for, not one, but two Visas, coz I’m latinaaa) andto have a loooot of patience but mostly work a lot towards a concept that I wanted to give life to, of course is not perfect (yet) but is a piece of work that I can show you and feel good about it, I’ve also realised that I’ve been flirting with some of these sounds in my DJ sets but never felt safe enough to really take a step or moving on from the groovy techno that I was playing, so all this months without networking, or any gig and just locking in; really helped me to find a sound that feels much more genuine to me. I, as well, wanted to put on a show that is also visual, so I asked princess @hefprentice and she was happy to join me on this one.
I will be sharing the whole set on my SC in the upcoming days.
