Dived amidst a pod of whale sharks (my guide said it’s the biggest he’s seen since 2016), and also created a beautiful memory with one of them that I will always hold dear to my heart. 🐳🦈❤️
While diving, we saw one of the whale sharks with a fishing line hooked onto its mouth. My guide managed to remove the fishing line, I can imagine it was super annoying for it having half its vision blocked. Wish we could also help get the hook out tho 🥲 After that encounter this cutie kept following me and playing with my bubbles 🥹🥹🥹 it was a beautiful experience. At one point I thought he swam away but he actually reemerged right behind me and I didn’t know. When my guide told me to turn around, this cutie was face to face with me. My bf managed to capture that moment (last photo 😆) My guide said it was trying to express gratefulness or somewhat for helping it and that it loved my bubbles that why it kept following and playing with me. These beautiful creatures are so intelligent and experience complex emotions, have rich cultures and are just as important as anyone of us. We need to do our part in keeping them and their homes safe. Nature is amazing. My heart is full 😌💕
