Flutter Across Time

In Flutter Across Time, fabric carries memory across generations. Butterflies cut from antique Hanbok silk, once stored quietly in a family wardrobe, drift alongside contemporary Korean silk across a surface of Hanji paper.

The work moves gently between preservation and transformation. Fragile white forms appear almost ghostlike, holding traces of labour, care, and inheritance within their movement. What was once worn close to the body returns in another state, suspended between past and present.

Thread, paper, and silk come together as a soft architecture of remembrance. The installation does not monumentalise memory, but allows it to flutter lightly through space, where intimacy survives through small acts of keeping and passing on.

LoSo Studio is a favorite spot for those in the know in Charlotte art scene. It is a wonderful place where good things happen for good people by good people.

Today, we had a great meeting to plan our first exhibition schedule for the Hand Project. After the meeting, we all gathered together for a Korean dinner hangout. Mrs. Lee‘s Korean food was absolutely the best!

I enjoyed the time very much. Hope you guys did too. Thank you so much for always being so thoughtful and supporting me.

More exciting things will happen at LoSo Studio this fall, so please make sure to visit us!

Every single day, I think about how truly honored I am to meet you through this project and to have the chance to get to know you on a deeper level.

I love your hands, the work they do, and all the stories behind them. But I must admit, I love you even more when you come to see me holding your finished backboard.

“Flutter Across Time” will be on view for 17 days as part of The Journey exhibition at the @cltartsfest , presented by @blumenthalarts and @intlhouseclt .

Exhibition Dates: September 12–28
Location: Knight Theater (1st floor)
Opening Night: September 12, 5–9 PM. I’ll be around by the Beer Garten, come say hi!
