We'd like to wish a Happy Birthday to Pete Townshend who turns 81. A true innovator in the world of rock music, not only for his songwriting skills and guitar histrionics, but also in his ability to interweave early electronic music influences seamlessly into The Who with songs like "Baba O'Riley" and "Won't Get Fooled Again". And it's one of our favorite parts of the tour to demonstrate this Lowrey Berkshire Deluxe organ and the famous "Marimba Repeat" control that is at the heart of "Baba". While we wish this was the exact instrument that Pete used on the recording, we love to share this as a tribute to Pete and to share that sometimes a very specific sound can make a piece of music just as much as the songwriter behind it. Playing #mmrbq with @circusheartsband tomorrow! Saw my first ever big rock show at this venue when I was 10. And it only took me just under 29 years to make it to that same stage. Hopefully it won't be the last time either. 😉

Hey all! Very excited about this upcoming workshop at @museum_of_music_technology_mmt on one of my favorite subjects... Electric Pianos. I'll be going through the history of how these instruments came to be and how they shaped popular music, and we'll have some fantastic and rare instruments from the museum collection to play and on display. Tickets are going fast! Tuesday, May 19th at 7PM.
