This film was written, shot and edited in less than 48h for last year’s SciFi London 48h challenge. It was made with

I left much of the interpretation to the audience. Each viewer can work out what is actually happening at the cliffhanger ending…

Just as in reality, each one of us has a role to play in what kind of future we will have (or not).

For centuries, many people have convinced much of humanity that only ‘competition’ (for narratives, resources and power) is beneficial rather than ‘collaboration.’

This divisive mindset has coloured politics, socio-economics and workplace management…this has led to wanton resources extraction, growth for growth’s sake’ and endless cycles of conflicts.

One definition of madness is to ‘keep repeating the same actions hoping for a different outcome’.

So, let’s try to stop the madness.

For ourselves and the next generations.

It’s time for a new paradigm.

The judging process has now concluded, and the Official Selection for the Wild Indie Sci-Fi & Fantasy Film Festival is confirmed.

To all of our Round 2 qualifiers — congratulations. Reaching that stage in such a fiercely competitive season was a major achievement in itself, and every one of you should be proud of the work that got you here.

To those progressing into the Official Selection — huge congratulations. Your films rose through an exceptional field of imaginative, ambitious, and brilliantly crafted genre filmmaking. We can’t wait to showcase your work on the big screen (about 25-30 of the films in a 5 hr screening programme)

To those not moving forward this time — please know how close many decisions were. The quality in Round 2 was outstanding, and making it that far says a great deal about your film and your filmmaking.

Huge congratulations to all our Round 1 Qualifiers — your films caught the eyes (and hearts) of more than one panel member, whether through a great concept, a daring stunt, stunning VFX, eye-popping prop, or simply a performance that shone like a star. You’ve earned your laurel, and you should be proud. 🌟 Be warned though next round... well it is tougher than spell-hardened dragon-armour.

To those whose films didn’t make it through this time: we see you, and we salute you. The hardest part of any festival director’s role (if you ask me) is sending those “not this round” messages and reading the disappointed replies that follow. We feel it too — because every submission represents your work, imagination, effort, and courage. Regardless of this, you're a filmmaker and a winner. So a bravo to all.

But maintaining the rigour and integrity of our panel process is vital. It’s what ensures that every laurel, every nomination, and every award from WISFFF truly means something. We owe that to every filmmaker — those progressing onwards in WISFFF and those still on their journey.
