this is me and @widyadari first house prelim for @justedeboutuk

we were pretty nervous, with a great combination of self doubt, lack of confidence, anxiety, stress, freezing up (at least speaking for myself)
and this is definitely not our best by far,
but wanted to share the journey, and pat ourselves on the back for trying despite the difficulties
and proud that we managed to stay somewhat calm during our round ahaha
to face this pressure filled environment that we’re really not used to

‘iTs aBoUt thE fRienDs yOu mAke aLoNg tHe waY’ ahaha
but really true, this was more about / more valuable for us to learn and grow together, to face the challenges together,to do it for the fun and joy of it, than caring about if we can win or be ‘the best’
i can get the nature of competitive events/dance, and all its value and growth
but i also want to remember its also very valuable to just enjoy your damn dance, just purely for your own joy, away from anyone’s judgement/opinion - just to hear and feel your own voice be free, away from everything, at least sometimes

for the direction of everyone caring less about being cool, about being less scared, about being as encouraging as we can have the capacity to, for ourselves and the friends and communities around us
what kind of community are we creating and contributing to, when we ourselves are unable to feel free?
but to have fun, and express ourselves to the fullest with confidence and joy, and whatever emotion you feel at that moment,
to feel that the community around us can still accept us, to hold each other up and grow together, without masks, fakeness or facades
