弊レーベル @cascadedelete から11/7(金)にリリースするHanu Hansa @waitdowhatnow のミニアルバム『Bangkok Blues』のカセットテープが出来上がりました！
ビジュアルアーティストでもあるアーティスト自身でアルバムデザイン、カセットのアートワークも全て担当してくれて、今はミュージック・ビデオも作成してくれてるそうで楽しみです♪
今作は静謐で暖かみのあるアンビエント作品で、ジャケットに使われた写真の女性、60年代前半に祖国タイからアメリカに渡ったアーティストの祖母 Puangpetch "Ree" Hunsapant を思い作られた郷愁的でロマンティックなアルバムです。ベーシストとして参加されていた Lotus Plaza のセカンドアルバム『Spooky Action at a Distance』 (Kranky) もLockett Pundt が祖母に捧げた優しくて美しいアルバムでした。今こうやって細やかではありますが名付けてくれたレーベルでリリースさせて頂ける事がとても嬉しいです。
販売ですが、小さなレーベルですので有識者である各お店のオーナー様達の広い胸をお借りして、発売から1ヶ月の間はお取り扱い店舗様のみでの販売となります。また納品後にアナウンスさせて頂きますので、各お店様の店舗、オンライン共に是非チェックを宜しくお願い致します😊

The cassette tape, Hanu Hansa 【Bangkok Blues】, will be out on Friday, November 7th. The artist designed all the artwork, and we are excited to hear that he is working on the music video!
This is a serene and heartwarming ambient music, dedicated to the woman in the jacket photo, the artist's grandmother, Puangpetch "Ree" Hunsapant, who left Thailand for the United States in the early 1960s. Lotus Plaza's 【Spooky Action at a Distance】, which he played as a bassist, was also a beautiful album, that Lockett Pundt made for his grandmother. This time, even in this modest way, we are incredibly happy to release 【Bangkok Blues】on our label as he named.
Regarding sales, we are a tiny label, so we rely on the generous support of knowledgeable store owners. For the first month after release, the album will be available exclusively at the stores. We will announce it again but be sure to check both physical stores and online shops of each participating retailer.
And more than that, Bobby Power, one of the owners of the Atlanta-based label Geographic North ( https://geographic-north.com/?force-web ) has written Hanu Hansa's introduction and the album commentary on our website. Geographic North is a really nice label! Please read it and check their brilliant music too.

Dead Pioneers 'Mythical Cowboy' video is out today.
Longtime Lyonnais bandmate, TJ Blake @waitdowhatnow , and I collaborated on a visual work for the first time in our creative history after years of music together. We took Dead Pioneers singer @greggdeal 's 2019 painting series 'The Others' and bought it to life with the help of TJ's incredible animation skills. Gregg and myself supported on additional illustration, direction and design. I'm so stoked how this came out and so excited to make something with TJ after seeing so much of his animation work with @strandedmusic and others over the last few year.

"The myth of the American cowboy has long been a cinematic fantasy—one built on systemic distortions and racist tropes that obscure the real histories of Indigenous people. Mythical Cowboy confronts this legacy head-on, dismantling the Western genre’s romanticized portrayals of conquest and erasure.
TJ Blake, an Atlanta-based Thai/American multimedia artist and musician, brings this vision to life by animating and expanding upon frontman Gregg Deal’s powerful visual series, The Others. Originally created in 2019 as paintings, The Others reimagines mid-century comic book imagery through an Indigenous lens, replacing dialogue with lyrics from punk anthems that mirror the struggle of Native resistance. It embodies the message of Gregg’s work, and by extension the voice of Dead Pioneers. Blake’s animation weaves the Mythical Cowboy lyrics into The Others narrative, further intensifying its impact—directly referencing MDC’s John Wayne Was a Nazi and the landmark 1998 Native-directed film Smoke Signals.
