Performing Tomorrow @ Algha’s Plantroom
Greek musician, singer, songwriter and multimedia artist Evita Manji is connecting the dots between the human
experience, the climate crisis, quantum physics and death, in an attempt to dig deeper into the primordial truth of
existence. Through her carefully constructed practice of synthesis and sound design, she fabricates musical worlds
consisting of ever-expanding sonic organisms and shapeless solid non-materials. In 2021, Evita launched her own platform, myxoxym, and since then she has curated events and released projects like Plasmodium I and II, fundraising compilations aimed at raising environmental awareness and supporting wildlife relief efforts, particularly in response to forest fires in Greece.
Evita has performed in esteemed venues across the globe including London’s Southbank Centre,
Berlin’s Volksbuehne and Sydney’s Phoenix Central Park, and at festivals such as CTM (DE), Unsound (PL), Mutek (MX), Elektra BIAN (CA), Draaimolen (NL), Mucho Flow (PT), Sonic Territories (AT), Skaņu Mežs (LV) and Fiber (NL), among others.
Evita has collaborated with numerous artists across various media and has exhibited sound works at galleries
such as Kunsthalle Basel (in collaboration with Young Boy Dancing Group), ODYSSEY Cologne, Kim? Contemporary Art Center (in collaboration with Jonas Wendelin) and Saigon Athens. In 2024, Evita undertook a residency at Berlin’s MONOM Studio, where she developed her debut spatial sound piece, Echo(location) Chamber, which premiered at Het Concertgebouw in Amsterdam. Beyond her solo work, Evita has collaborated with an array of artists, including contributions for multi-instrumentalist Ludwig Wandinger on Is Peace Wild? (light-years) and for Kuwait-based Van Boom (Prosthetics, Cease 2 Exist). She was featured on two tracks from SOPHIE’s posthumous album - SOPHIE - and has composed music for Nick Knight. Most recently, she has just completed an extensive club tour throughout Asia.
