Hi everyone! Unfortunately, I had a nasty accident last Wednesday and ended up in the hospital (and no, it wasn’t motorcycle-related). What started as a fall and a broken elbow quickly turned into a life- and limb-threatening situation. Right now, the focus is on my overall recovery and getting my left arm back to some semblance of normalcy.
My arm is currently locked in a titanium exoskeleton, with several surgeries ahead (all the threads are M6, so I could easily interface with one of my own installations). Sadly, this means I’ll be stepping away from most hands-on projects for quite a while, as I face months of physical rehabilitation.
To keep things running and cover medical expenses, I plan to focus as much as possible on teaching (in both English and Russian) — something I already dedicated about 50% of my time to during my years abroad. My preferred format is one-on-one mentorship and consulting in the field of New Media and Tech Art (covering both technical implementation and conceptual development). While I haven’t advertised this much, I’ve actually been doing it for years.
I also offer group online workshops and full courses on specific disciplines: Max/MSP, Arduino, microcontrollers, basic mechatronics, etc. And, of course, now is the perfect time to acquire one of my existing works or commission a future piece!
I’ll keep you posted. I might not be able to reply to messages immediately, but I’ll get back to everyone as soon as I can focus again.

My small, never-before-documented installation from 2023, Remember me / erase me. It is a small photo machine that starts to forget you immediately after taking your picture. It will be presented at the exhibition at Krings-Ernst Galerie in Cologne starting from March 27th.

- @vtol_

membrana ist Teil der Ausstellung OUT OF CONTROL
Laufzeit: bis 14.11.2025
Öffnungszeiten: Dienstag – Freitag, 14.00 – 19.00 Uhr und nach Vereinbarung

::vtol:: trinagulator

These objects are small sound and kinetic sculptures that use magnets to create kinetic oscillations, acting as modulators for the sound signal. Small impulses from the electromagnet cause a pendulum with permanent magnets at both ends to swing. The lower magnet is used to repel from the electromagnet, while the upper one allows a special magnetic field sensor to read data about the oscillations, which a special sound generation algorithm uses to modulate the sound signal. Continuously fading and accelerating again, this dynamic system seems to be searching for an elusive balance, unable to settle precisely on it.

This year could have marked the first time since 2008 that I didn’t complete a single new work. However, I actively contributed to the creation of over ten new pieces by other artists in my roles as a producer, engineer, and programmer. At present, my works are in much lower demand than my skills. On the last day before departing Ljubljana for a New Year’s vacation, I managed to create this small cutie (Vulcano) lifting the shadow of an unproductive year.
