It’s here. RITUALS is now out on Bandcamp for your listening pleasure. I recorded this album with equal parts recklessness and rigor in my freezing apartment this past winter. It was a learning process in a lot of ways, driven by my stubbornness, obsessive tendencies, and a need to get this story out so it could reach the people with whom it would resonate. If you’ve ever experienced the darkly humorous side of self destruction, this is for you.

You’re the absolute best when it comes to creating visually cohesive worlds and I want to spend the rest of my life making art with you. And of course, thanks for directing, editing, and playing the ghost in the “ghost hunter” music video, designing the album cover, and lending your voice to the maenads in “bacchae”. In a way, it’s like the album begins and ends with you. You are a shining star in every way.

Thank you folk punk, goth, Russian chanson, abandoned buildings, cobblestone streets, blooming rust, ghost hunting reality shows, Euripides, cemeteries, freesound.org, broken radiators, sinking ankle-deep into snow, chord progressions that sound like heartache and the feeling that nights can still be full of promise.

In a way, this is my proof of concept. The next one will be even weirder.

Playing with @voydescreamsback for the BEEM Wonderville Showcase at the end of the month. Voyde will be doing visuals and I'll be performing with my eurorack rig. It's also free, so if you don't come it's like whatever.

perhaps the documentation is very mid. perhaps I regret that. Perhaps it is okay sometimes to show up imperfect. to share in the joy of transient creation, a happening, a glimpse of something meant to be explored in the moment. perhaps someone helps me do this again on a larger scale and document it better next time.
