Our debut album "Het Allemaal" is coming out on June 11th. To celebrate we are playing our very first show at Volta @volta.amsterdam on the same day.

Hey everyone! This April marks my 10th anniversary working at Volta! Time goes by so fast!

In the past 10 years I tapped countless beers, mixed countless bands, fell from the (extremely arbo certified) front of house balcony only twice, danced behind the bar, performed on the stage many times, perfected my caipirinha recipe and recorded a lot of music on the venue’s off days and even deep in the night (crazy covid memories).

Way plenty reasons for a party if you ask me! So we’re gonna have one on April 24, and we will not be alone. The night will open with the premiere of my new piece for GUITAR ORCHESTRA. 12 electric guitarists and one drummer will perform my composition, which was inspired by recent events such as missing a concert of Louis Andriessen’s De Materie twice, seeing shoegaze bands, the desire to hear the Hendrix chord in every key at once…

After then carrying 12 guitar amps off the stage there will be space for some really cool acts and really cool dance moves. I’m delighted that THE EARWURMS will be with us, as we share so many memories in Volta, such as recording their first album Conceptual Mikmak there! They released another one called Plonk in the meantime, check it out!

Later at night we can really lift our little feet because ELLAx will be performing! With an expressive live electro performance ELLAx moves you through worlds and beyond and keeps you literally on your toes!

There will be a little more, but I will announce that later! Hope to see you there, and here’s to 10 more years!

UPDATE: I’m excited that LUKRAAK will join the program, performing their newest project Onderbroken Inconsistenties: 150 short compositions by many different composers, compressed in a 45 minute set!

Je hebt een tijdje niks van ons gehoord, maar een goede reden!

We werden opgeslokt door het zwarte gat dat cyberspace heet. Toen we hier, gelukkig heelhuids, uitkwamen, hebben we 3 digitale gems meegenomen. Opgepoetst en wel staan deze nu op onze nieuwe EP genaamd:

8 mei is ‘De Dag’ dat we deze pasgeboren platen voor het eerst laten schitteren op het wereldwijde web 🌐
En natuurlijk live bij @volta.Amsterdam

Je 4 favoriete beroepsmuzikanten schotelen je deze avond hun nieuwe EP voor met ondersteuning van wat oude hitjes, nieuwe covers en in samenwerking met een weergaloze supportact T.B.A.

Dus wat moet jij nu doen?
Allereerst even rustig in en uit ademen. Namasté. ☯️

En vervolgens als de wiedeweerga 8 mei met vier uitroeptekens en zes meldingen in je agenda zetten.
Want dit wordt zo’n avond die jij later, onder het genot van een Primitivo, aan je kleinkinderen vertelt. 🚼
