Together, we planted vegetables, herbs, strawberries, flowers, and more while bringing new life and beauty to our garden spaces.

Over the past several months, we’ve had the privilege of working alongside an incredible group of University of South Alabama School of Computing students—An, Zach, Conner, and Gavin—on a Technology Inventory Project that is already making a meaningful impact across VOA Southeast.

From day one, they approached this work with curiosity, professionalism, and a willingness to learn. They didn’t just complete a project—they helped us build a clearer, more structured understanding of our technology environment, laying the groundwork for stronger decision-making and future innovation.

On Thursday, they delivered their final presentation—and it was nothing short of outstanding. Confident, thoughtful, and incredibly well done. It was clear how much time, effort, and care they put into this work.

More importantly, they showed what it looks like to adapt to real-world challenges, collaborate across teams, and create solutions that truly matter.

He Didn’t Just Find a Job—He Found His Place | Autism Awareness Month

During Autism Awareness Month, we’re sharing Jeffrey’s journey. After years of struggling to navigate the job search, Jeffrey found the right fit with support from VOA Southeast’s Supported Employment program—offering personalized job matching, coaching, and ongoing support to help him succeed. Today, he’s a valued employee known for his reliability and strong work ethic—nearly a decade later.

On Friday, we had the opportunity to host a tour of Eagle’s Landing—our transitional housing program for veterans—with a student team led by Dr. Maureen Van Devender from The University of South Alabama School of Computing.

Over the past few months, we’ve been working alongside An, Gavin, Zach, and Conner—all graduating in May—on a technology project, and they have been incredible partners every step of the way. Their insight, energy, and willingness to jump in have made a meaningful impact.
