Happy to see parts of my culture be celebrated instead of vilified, but it really wasn’t that long ago that we were called ugly, dirty, and untrustworthy.

I’m glad you’re seeing the benefits of drinking warm water now, but your jacket with frog buttons simply won’t arm you with the grit and generational trauma that we’ve had to build and carry. There are pros and cons of all cultural upbringings, and I truly wouldn’t have had it any other way.

To all the people who knew that we were cool before the zeitgeist was ready— all the alt Asian baddies, the farmers, the thinkers, the addicts, the people who had to leave everything behind because there was hope somewhere else… we are the f*ck!ng CH!NKPRINT.

Normie Shore is a reference to pop culture staple, American reality tv show Jersey Shore. When we first conceptualized this show, we were going to film a reality tv/docuseries in SEA, featuring all of our baddie friends that we’ve met along the way. Due to.. unprecedented events, we’ve had to postpone until further notice.

At the club, Normie Shore is a baddie-centered, nostalgia bomb, recession indicator dance party where we’ll play the hits and get responsibly lit with our friends.

We hope to share a dance floor with you soon!

Presenting our next DJ, returning to Manila: fagofcolour (he/they), co-founder of Vancouver-based Normie Corp—a collective that, since its inception, has championed queer and trans folks, as well as Black, Indigenous, and people of colour.

As DJ fagofcolour, he believes that no genres are off limits as long as the crowd is dancing. His approach has found him playing at clubs, warehouses, and stadiums across the world.
