For the “Past Intelligence” exhibition by Staatliche Museen zu Berlin, Berlin-based designer Yasemin Akgül (@yaseminakguel) presents “Kirâmen Kâtibîn – Rakîb & Atîd,” a conceptual couture project exploring duality, justice, and spiritual presence through fashion.
Drawing inspiration from the Islamic figures Rakîb and Atîd, who record every thought and deed, the collection reimagines a 1986 Givenchy pattern through the lens of the contrasting forces of Yin and Yang, which are in constant dialogue.
Shot in the historic Clärchens Ballhaus, the looks fuse black-and-white gradient organza, sculptural ruffles, and Hepburn-inspired gloves to evoke themes of rebellion and elegance with a purpose.
