“The Good Time. We’re open six nights a week…we play the classics. Casablanca. Psycho. Citizen Kane…Our biggest nights are the Monster Movie Double Features.” - Remy, Monsters of the American Cinema

Monsters of the American Cinema tells the story of Remy Washington (Thomas Miller) and Peter “Pup” Miller (Nathan Pearce). After his husband’s death, Remy, a Black man, inherits a drive-in movie theater and takes on the unexpected responsibility of raising his late-husband’s straight, white teenage son, Pup. The two form a bond over their shared love of classic monster movies but soon, their connection begins to fracture, and the real horrors start to emerge.

April 30, May 1, & May 2. All performances begin at 8 p.m., with doors opening at 7 p.m. Come early (and stay after) for a drink, a little popcorn, and enjoy the final production of our 2025-26 season.

Monsters of the American Cinema is proudly presented by Voices from the Alley. Voices from the Alley is a platform to support unique and diverse theater makers in Boise, aiming to curate dynamic cultural conversations to deeply tether and strengthen our community.

A Black gay man, Remy desperately wants to do right by Pup, but in an age of social media, racism, and homophobia, the challenge is steep. Creatures from the Deep Lagoon might be their only hope.
