Founded in 2018 by Dycide, MTRL and our resident Polygonia, the Munich-based collective and audiovisual platform has grown from a shared studio practice into one of the city’s most distinctive creative ecosystems: held together not by a fixed sound, but by a genuine curiosity about process, detail and what becomes possible when producers actually work in each other’s company.
Their edition of Room for Music turns the spotlight inward. Vanta and Mitra, IO’s most recent additions, each step forward with a live set. An introduction to where the collective is heading next. The evening then opens into a collective b2b session, drawing freely from the full arc of the label’s output: established works, new material, and tracks still finding their shape.

Inspired by classic listening sessions yet firmly rooted in Munich’s present, Rooms For Music shifts attention to the B-sides and the details between the beats, reconnecting with our former format Before The Party Starts. We open the series with evenings hosted by the labels Ilian Tape and Squama, with more to follow. Each invited group shapes its own dramaturgy: from ambient excursions, artist talks and deep techno meditations to jazz-informed dialogues, post-punk reflections and beyond. Marvin Hoyer, aka Vanta, @v_ant_ais a Leipzig-based artist blending raw intensity with hypnotic, dark electronic sound design, rooted in metalcore and hardcore influences. Since 2019, he has built a distinct sonic identity through releases on labels like Charybdis, Further Sessions, KVLTÖ Records, and Deflection Music. Now a member of IO Records and Leipzig’s aequalis crew, he continues to push genre boundaries with immersive productions, DJ sets, and live performances.
