“Travelling Artists in Times of War” is an evening of sound and performance art that asks how artists can, in Howard Zinn’s terms, transcend the madness of the present while assuming their responsibilities as human beings.

On May 1st, 2026, @graceexhibitionspace will host a 5 PM round table with the artists on art and mobility  in the current U.S. political climate, followed at 8 PM by performances from them : Keiko Uenishi (Japan/USA) & Katherine Liberovskaya (Canada/USA), Hraïr Hratchian (Armenia/Quebec), Gabrielle Couillard (Québec) & Soledad Coyoli (Mexico) and Zazalie Z. (Québec).

Grounded in Zinn’s insistence that the “important issues in the world are the citizens’ business,” the event invites artists to question patriotic mythologies, institutional habitus and enforced unity through experimental sound performances. Curated by Eric Letourneau, and co-presented by GES, Hexagram and the Laboratoire Musiques cachées the evening proposes performance as a way to reimagine listening, vulnerability, and solidarity in a time of war.

Un video para ‘Los abrazos vacíos’ del Mar de Sombra de Coyoli (@unasoledad). Es una de las canciones más bonitas y desgarradoras que he escuchado. Las imágenes son de un edificio abandonado en Veracruz en donde mi madre trabajó en los años setenta. La infinita inclemencia del tiempo, el salitre y la humedad han dejado su huella. Las implacables ‘tronadoras’ cubren y atraviesan los muros con sus raíces. Nunca había visto la puerta del edificio abierta y me colé en cuanto hubo una oportunidad. Creo que alguien tuvo la misma idea porque empecé a escuchar ruidos de pasos. El video está en el youtube de Radio Cabra—enlace en el perfil.

Today, I will share excerpts of a live solo piano album that will be out @cruelnaturerecs on August 1. The concert excerpts being aired today are from a live show in Amsterdam hosted by @occii_amsterdam, also @bds_nederland and housing justice group @bpwamsterdam tabled and spoke at this event.

Additionally there will be an excerpt from a live set recorded by @rabih__beaini at @morphine_records_raum in Berlin, that also directly broadcast on Radio AlHara at the time in Jan. 2023. Thank you @ibrahimowais and @elias.anastas for making that broadcast happen.

The excellent illustration scans that I am sharing here are by Mexican artist and musician @unasoledad and are the basis for the album artwork and design.

Last weekend I attended the workshop “Exploring Video Art through VHS and Analog Glitch”, which was held at @easternblocmtl and given by @guillaume_vallee and @mr_saboteur

It is inspiring to learn new techniques and see how these transform our practice - how these spark different connections within our work flow and languages.

Last weekend I attended the workshop “Exploring Video Art through VHS and Analog Glitch”, which was held at @easternblocmtl and given by @guillaume_vallee and @mr_saboteur

It is inspiring to learn new techniques and see how these transform our practice - how these spark different connections within our work flow and languages.

Last weekend I attended the workshop “Exploring Video Art through VHS and Analog Glitch”, which was held at @easternblocmtl and given by @guillaume_vallee and @mr_saboteur

It is inspiring to learn new techniques and see how these transform our practice - how these spark different connections within our work flow and languages.

It’s with a heart full of emotions that I invite you to D’adevïse’s second iteration.

And I say full of emotions because I could not be more excited about the incredible ensemble of artists who will be exchanging ~ collaborating, but also because this performance carries the small burden of being a farewell to our “Estrellas distantes” - artists that I admire truly and deeply : Yuma and Ángel (who are leaving Montreal indefinitely).

So, come join us!
