"You always hear, 'Follow in your parents' footsteps.' I feel like I'm following in my children's footsteps." Jeff Cannon spent 20 years finishing his bachelor's degree while serving in the Air Force but never letting go of his dream of graduating from a Texas university.

Watching his daughter Haleigh graduate from TXST in 2020, then his son Tyler in 2023, gave him the push he needed. So he enrolled. In the same master's program as Tyler. And this weekend, they walked the stage together.

Both earned degrees in Organization, Workforce, and Leadership Studies (OWLS). Both took home program awards. And both proved that it's never too late to chase something that matters.
Congratulations to the Cannon family!

Congratulations to the @txst Class of 2026! 🎓

Long before becoming president, Lyndon B. Johnson was a student at what was then Southwest Texas State Teachers College, graduating in 1930. While on campus, he led the debate team, edited the student newspaper, and began building the skills that would shape his future in public service.

Today, his legacy remains part of TXST—from campus landmarks to the iconic statue in the Quad, where students touch his hand for luck and celebrate their graduation by featuring the distinguished alumnus in their photos.
