A few weeks ago, Turtle Island was featured on this @infatuation_sf list of San Francisco’s best breakfast sandwiches. It’s a pretty awesome distinction and affirmation for us, being recognized and compared to some of the city’s most beloved spots. Being a pop up just a little more than a year old, it’s a welcome sign of encouragement that we’re building something people want. Of course, we sort of knew that already - we’re constantly in awe of the support and love we’re shown at our pop ups. We owe a debt of gratitude to every person who has interacted with Turtle Island since we began this, whether you’re a guest at our pop ups, a friend who’s done us a favor, or one of the numerous hosts who’ve taken us in and let Turtle Island do its thing. Your participation and engagement means literally everything. Thank you, endlessly!

We’ll be off this weekend, but back soon with pop up dates TBA. As we look toward to the second half of 2025, we hope to find footing in a regular location again as soon as possible.

We’re back this Sunday with @drinknorth slinging cocktails and spinning records. Head in for some breakfast sandwiches 🥓🍳🧀, gratuitous honey butter toast for dessert 🍯🍞, and espresso martinis ☕️🍸 and don’t sleep on the gorgeous patio out back!

Tomorrow Sunday 9/28 will be the last chance to see us for a while! We’ll be at @doloresdeluxesf from 9am-12pm with your favorite breakfast sandwiches. After this, we will be taking a break from pop ups for the time being.

More to say on this later, but for now I want to give a quick thank you to everyone who has supported Turtle Island since it began almost two years ago. The first place to be on weekends is @rampant.wine where we’re serving up our East Coast-style breakfast sandwiches and @poorboy.coffee is putting out incredible coffee bevs and beans.

Nearly two months into this residency, we feel at home in the Outer Richmond and have been so lucky to have had the community’s support, appreciation, and encouragement since the first day. The dream is to help start your day with something good, be it the simplicity and beauty of a perfectly fried egg, or a welcoming smile and “thank you” that lets you know we are genuinely glad to see and to serve you. Every weekend, we are grateful to live that dream and we’re inspired to keep growing as a business and as people. Your past and continued support means so much. ❤️

Big big shout out to @side_dish_chef for being the absolute best copilot and buddy I could hope for. It’s really good to surround yourself with people with far more talent than you possess, and an equally cool and calm demeanor no matter the situation. Totally irreplaceable.
