Thanks to 📽️ @turtle.bait for making this experience so much more than what we could have imagined going in to this. We had a show get cancelled last minute and decided to perform for our fans anyways and you showed up and made it a whole ass moment for us. Having a crew of such beautiful like minded people that feel the same way about music as we do is something we will never take for granted. Your creativity, endless talents and passion won’t go unnoticed in this scene.

Meet my neighbors:
Terrapene triunguis, Three-toed Box Turtle

These wonderful wandering footballs are gearing up for breeding season, traversing great distances (for a turtle) in search of mates. While not a species of direct conservation concern, box turtles have suffered a severe decline in population numbers over the past century due to habitat fragmentation and automobile-related deaths.

Males like this fella' often sport brighter orange/red colour scales and eyes; they have a concave plastron (shell bottom) and flared posterior scutes to help with balance during copulation. Whereas the females have a smooth plastron, higher domed carapace, and generally unflared posterior scutes.

Be kind and remember if you stop to help a dude out of the road, to move them in the direction they're heading. Be safe out, all.

JUST DO IT YOURSELF!
Organize and host your own show - get your friends' bands together somewhere and make a night of it. If you have a connection to electricity, and the drive and tenacity to see your art bloom forth you can make it happen! DIY and off-grid shows are the backbone of any local scene; dedicated venues are nice, but let's be real - they care more about beer sales than you, your art, or anything concerning 'the show'.

Metal, punk, and rock were never about being 'mainstream', 'tiktok famous', or whatever metric of 2020s success artists strive for nowadays... they were about sweaty, weird humans gathering in much too small of a room and playing music they love much too loudly. It was about putting on a show getting that shit done -
NO MATTER WHAT.
