A little while ago, we introduced you to Rhyder, a talented young dart player from our community with a big dream and an even bigger work ethic.

This week, he officially became the Canadian Youth National Champion in the Junior Boys division.

Behind accomplishments like this are countless hours of practice, travel, determination, and a community willing to show up and support local youth chasing big goals. Rhyder’s family shared how grateful they are to everyone who contributed along the way through sponsorships, donations, fundraisers, and encouragement throughout the journey.

And the journey isn’t over yet.

Next stop: the World Masters in Las Vegas from July 14–19. 🇨🇦

For nearly half a century, she helped care for, comfort, guide, and shape the lives of children in this community. Thousands of little moments most people never see. Tying shoes. Wiping tears. Teaching kindness. Celebrating milestones. Becoming a safe and familiar face for generations of families. ❤️

In a world where people change jobs constantly, there’s something deeply moving about someone who spends 45 years caring for children and helping shape the earliest years of so many lives.

Gabi is entering her second year of the Bachelor of Education program at StFX and has been involved with Big Brothers Big Sisters for several years through both volunteering and working in the office over the past three summers. She is excited to take on this new leadership role, work alongside an amazing team, and help make Fundy Scoops a fun and positive place for everyone this summer!

We also want to congratulate Kayden who was our manager at Fundy Scoops for the last two seasons! She received her Education degree from Crandall and we’re so proud of her and excited to see what she’ll get up to next.

The dairy bar will operate Monday-Friday 2-8 and 11-8 on weekends (we’ll be open 11-8 on Victoria Day!)

Hundreds of women, girls, transgender, and non-binary individuals in our communities struggle to access menstrual products because of cost, location, or other barriers. Something as simple as not having access to pads or tampons can impact school, work, confidence, and daily life.

From May 6–31, unopened menstrual products can be dropped off at the following locations:

Menstrual products are something many people never have to think twice about buying, but for others, they’re simply out of reach.

This May, United Way Maritimes is launching Menstrual May, a collection drive helping address period poverty across Colchester and Cumberland Counties.

Hundreds of women, girls, transgender, and non-binary individuals in our communities struggle to access menstrual products because of cost, location, or other barriers. Something as simple as not having access to pads or tampons can impact school, work, confidence, and daily life.

From May 6–31, unopened menstrual products can be dropped off at the following locations:

📍 Colchester County
• Truro Library
• Tatamagouche Library
• Stewiacke Library

📍 Cumberland County
• YMCA of Cumberland
• Dr Carson and Marion Murray Community Centre
