My debut poetry collection is officially out today!

NEON MANILA has been a journey five years in the making. Throughout that time, I’ve gotten to work with so many people I’ve long admired: from poets, artists, photographers, videographers, and musicians who all helped me create the universe I’ve envisioned for this book from the very start. The result is a body of work that is joyous, hilarious, angry, horny, political, and determined to unearth beauty and power from the queer Filipino lived experience. And even after all of the fun I’ve had so far, I know there’s only more to come.

I hope you enjoy reading these poems as much as I enjoyed writing, caring, and living them x

PS please feel free to use the code NEON25 for a discount when buying a copy direct from @ninearchespress!

MY DADDY BABY MV

Here’s a poem from my debut collection in music video form! When I was choosing which poems to record to music, I just knew the humour and tragedy in this one would fit right in a sparkly techno sound.

Shout outs to all the discreet and down low boys out there who just love to make things difficult — this one’s for you!

NEON MANILA out with @ninearchespress 30th of October. Pre-order your copy now 🩵

Music: Justin de Guzman @justindg
Video: Ray Roberts @rayroberts
Featuring: Ken dolls

🎙️🛁 It’s Troy Cabida (Neon Manila) day!

Troy Cabida is a London-based Filipino poet. He is a former member of the Barbican Young Poets and the Roundhouse Poetry Collective. Join Molly and Troy for a conversation about collaboration. We talk about the highs, the lows, and the things we need to have in place to make it work. We discuss collaboration as making something that ends up being more than the sum its parts (if all goes well), and about collaboration as being in community with other artists. We unpack how we might approach navigating and sharing that creative space.

Troy’s debut collection Neon Manila is available now!
You can also listen to the audio version on @troycabida’s Bandcamp page.

This is the penultimate episode of season 3. Next week, we’ll be doing a special Q & A episode. If you have a question you’d like us to discuss, please send it via Instagram direct message, or email it here.
