Three years later, Troy Chatterton, longtime manager of Three Lives opened @wildsorrelcookbooks across town. And what did I find in the window? Turns out Eating at Home was one of the early top sellers of the shop. Truth be told, I am a little teary thinking of the beautiful way things work out.

Last week’s conversation with @trinitymouzon around EATING AT HOME settled into something really warm and honest.

Less about “cooking” in the formal sense, more about eating at home as a practice—rituals, gestures, the ways food fits into the middle of busy lives.

Early on, #friendoftheshop @thegordinier joked that he’d been “self-medicating with this book,” which pretty much opened the door to the whole conversation. Real talk.

Trinity spoke candidly about being an entrepreneur, a working parent of two young children, food from both the Japanese and the African American diaspora, and figuring out how to feed yourself and your family in a way that feels good but also realistic. Not every meal needs to be ambitious to matter. Dashi scrambled eggs!
