From hidden gems to viral flavours — this is OFF THE EATEN TRACK 🚂 🍽️ OpenTable’s series celebrating the cuisines shaping London right now.

This week we’re diving into the bold, vibrant flavours of Sri Lanka 🇱🇰. We headed down south to @trincobyoru, where co-founder @vibushanandwolfie shared how he’s reimagining Tamil Sri Lankan classics into plant-based dishes that still taste like home. (We’re still dreaming about those muttonless rolls btw 👀).

And we’re not done yet — more Sri Lankan content is coming your way 👀 HINT: an award-winning West London female chef serving up traditional family recipes passed down through generations.

This month, we had the pleasure of partnering with Dulwich Festival to bring a truly special series of events to Oru, and what a couple of weeks it’s been!

Sober Social, Rhythm & Release with @kat.cashman , Kitchen Confessional: A storytelling Supper club & Rhythms of the Disapora: Yoga & Tamil Instrumentals with @sikdrummer , @preetipm_ & @vibushanandwolfie

From a Sober Social that proved connection can truly flourish without the need for alcohol, to a Kitchen Confessional where stories were shared over shared plates, to Rhythm and Release, exploring the true medicine of movement. Each event felt like a reminder of why we do what we do. We rounded things off with an embodied yoga practice set to live Tamil instrumentals; a genuinely rare and beautiful experience bringing together music and movement 🪄

Each room was full, and the energy in the room showed exactly why. To everyone who came along, thank you for showing up and making each moment what it was. And to Dulwich Festival, thank you for trusting us as a partner and for helping us bring such a rich, diverse programme to the heart of the community 🌿

We’re beyond excited to announce that @rob_r_music is coming to Trinco Sutton for a Rooftop Summer Session unlike anything we’ve ever hosted before! 🪄

Born in Jaffna, raised in London, and now playing across Sri Lanka, India, Singapore. Berlin, Prague and beyond, Rob R blends afro-house, tribal rhythms and South Asian electronic sounds into something deeply atmospheric, soulful and completely his own.

For one night only, and his only London show this summer, the set will be embedded within our rooftop community garden, surrounded by plants, sunset skies and the energy of summer in the city with open-air global sounds and our exceptional Sri Lankan food from Trinco, this one already feels incredibly special !

The evening will also include an intimate in-conversation talk with Rob and our CEO Vibushan, reflecting on Sri Lanka, music, identity, culture and the journey behind it all.

Joining Rob on the night will be DJs @tryb_official and @alteregogowshi

Tickets are going to go super fast, early-bird available until Saturady! Head to www.oruspace.co/events

A few words about our Trinco Spring Menu from our 👨‍🍳 chef…

Oru’s evening menu has always been anchored in Tamil cuisine. Whilst we’re lucky to be close to some excellent produce grown and nurtured both in the U.K. and our close European neighbours, we always keep on eye on the principles and flavours of Tamil culture, trying to stay close to what defines us as an enterprise.

So alongside the red curry powder, coconut milk, thosai mix, green chillies and so much more which are central to us, this season brings asparagus, Jersey Royals and baby artichokes, broad beans, figs and abundant fresh herbs.

We try to mix these differing heritages in a way that makes sense, one style complementing the other - never overpowering it.

So crispy thosai’s are scattered over New Forest asparagus, and fermented chillies garnish the tender new season artichokes, bringing the flavours of spring and bright notes of the new season 🌱
