Get ready for a massive night as frEakout collective/Sunday Selectors welcomes the legendary DJ Trevor Fung, to the lovely Piccadilly Central booth. A pioneer of the Ibiza scene and one of the original tastemakers behind the global dance movement, Trevor brings decades of iconic sounds and underground grooves straight to our dancefloor for one very special night.
This will bea journey through the true spirit of dance music with one of the scene’s true legends…… and he’s a thoroughly nice chap to boot.
Save the date Sunday 24th may (it’s a bank holiday 🤗😜👏) 8pm - 2am and entry is nish, nada, not a penny, completely free…… I don’t know how we do it x

A lot of people’s have been asking me about this track.Originally released in 2012, the debut release from Fatdog quickly became a cult classic amongst fans of low-slung deep house. Outside of the studio his Werk parties were hosting the likes Marcellus Pittman, Theo Parrish, Move D, MCDE, Levon Vincent, Moodymann & Patrice Scott in the North East of England. This EP was a testament to the wild basement energy that culminated from those nights, marrying UK and Detroit influences with consummate ease.
‘Remember Me’ sets the tone with Chris Raine’s soulful croon laid over warm organ chords and a restrained electro synth hook, creating a swinging, late-night vibe. ‘U&Me’ drifts into dubbed-out, codeine-laced slo-house territory, deep and narcotic. On the B-side, ‘Cookie’ channels Theo Parrish with its syrupy, hypnotic strut, while ‘Contact’ closes out with an electroid edge—perfect for the 3AM dancefloor stalkers.
Some 13 years later, WOLF have reached back into the archives and with permission from the man himself, have reissued this timeless EP for a new generation of record buyers.

Think you’re Balearic?
Are you more Balearic than Trevor ‘introduced-the-four-Housemen-of-the-Apocalypse-to-DJ Alfredo’ Fung?
The man who was playing Konk to the cool kids in 1983, whose warm up DJ was Carl Cox and whose knowledge spans everything from soul, funk and disco to all the shades of house?
Time to give the man his dues…

We are excited to announce The Balearic Boutique returns to Margate Soul Weekender 2026 for the 25 anniversary, and we thought it only appropriate to invite a guest who has been at the forefront of dance music culture for fifty years.
We welcome a true hero and originator of the Balearic / dance music scene to Margate Soul Weekender and The Balearic Boutique : Trevor Fung
Trevor Fung’s legacy is as the foundational architect of the UK’s acid house and Balearic beat explosion. Often described as an “unsung hero,” Fung was instrumental in shaping the eclectic sound of Ibiza in the early 1980s, holding a residency at Amnesia as early as 1983, predating many of the scene’s better-known figures. His most pivotal contribution was instigating the legendary 1987 Ibiza trip for Paul Oakenfold, Danny Rampling, and Nicky Holloway, an event that directly led to the birth of seminal UK clubs like Shoom and Spectrum. Beyond his role as a catalyst, Fung helped codify the “Balearic” genre itself, even compiling the influential Balearic Beats Vol 1 album. From headlining massive M25 orbital raves like Sunrise and Energy to his ongoing work as an ambassador for charities like Last night a DJ saved my life. Fung remains a respected pioneer whose open-minded selector style continues to influence global club culture decades later.

JAZZ CAFE THIS SUNDAY:
A big day coming up on Sunday, when London’s @thejazzcafe host a special daytime session, where I’ll be playing an extended 4 hour set between 6-10pm. Tickets, I’m told, have sold really well, the last of which are here: https://ra.co/events/2353240
I was asked to suggest another DJ for the day, and I thought @trevfun303 would make the perfect guest. Trevor, like myself, is currently celebrating 50 years as a DJ – starting out in South London in 1976, I became aware of him (and vice-versa) via namechecks in Blues & Soul during the late-‘70s, in Bob Killbourn’s club column.
He was a jazz-funk DJ back then, connected into the wider scene, picking up bookings for various all-dayers and appearing alongside some of the big Funk Mafia names. It’s a whole side of Trevor’s career that many are unaware of.
His name is more associated with the early days of Ibiza, where he first DJ’d in 1982. He was the catalyst for the legendary Ibiza Four (Danny Rampling, Paul Oakenfold, Nicky Holloway & Johnny Walker) to make their famous foray to the white isle in ‘87, and, alongside his friend, Paul Oakenfold, they originally brought the balearic spirit back to Ziggy’s in Streatham.
Trevor was Oakenfold’s mentor, the superstar DJ remembering that “watching Trevor play got me into it”. Oakenfold’s first residency was at Rumours in Covent Garden, where he initially went to see Trevor play. There’s a lot of history between them.
He never received full dues for his own pioneering spirit, alongside his cousin Ian St Paul, who by 1987 were already running a bar on the island called The Project Club – the Ibiza Four were really the Ibiza Six.
A mainstay of the acid house & rave scenes, Trevor has continued to DJ to date, enjoying a renaissance of late via his @balearic_burger appearances. He’s based in Staffordshire these days, so it’s great to bring him back to London, where he’ll be playing from 4pm.
Further to this, we’ll be in Ibiza together next October when we’re both on the line-up for Balearic Burger’s five day gathering on the island.
