TREEAMS by The Seven Arrows Way of Education
A student-led environmental movement to lower LA by 2°F • Planting 5K trees in 5 yrs 🍃🌳• Partners: Jane Goodall & friends of SA Way of Education
The students who gathered today for the inauguration of the Aldersgate Nursery project, had special empathy for the families being evacuated from Simi Valley right now. These students, affected by the Altadena and Pacific Palisades fires, have an intimate understanding of the potential devastation of severe weather in their communities. They understand the importance of planting the right trees in the right places to help deter fires from spreading. .
By taking action, students are bringing hope, and leading the way with best practices. They replanted small trees in 15 gallon buckets, making the Aldersgate historical building of Seven Arrows Elementary, a nursery for these native trees, which will be tended to by TREEAMS volunteers and kept until other schools, parks and community members are ready to receive them.

Our event on Saturday was amazing! We had such a good volunteer turnout, which is really the most amazing thing. Thank you to CA State Parks for inviting us to partner with them to restore Will Roger’s Park. To Noah Rishe, Senior Environmental Scientist, for educating us on the restoration process to our students and believing in us to do this important work.
Jordon Corral and his team from Resilient Palisades for showing us how to Remove Invasive Plants and prepare the soil for planting.
Thank you to David Card from Pacific Palisades Forestry Committee for his wisdom and generosity with our students, sharing your knowledge on California native plants and how to care for our newly planted trees.
To our partner UCLA Department of Education and to @creativevisionsfoundation @studentsrebuild , one of our first foundational supporters, for participating in the planting and getting their hands dirty with us!
In the words of Jane Goodall “Together we can, together we will, together we must change the world.”

Yesterday morning, over at Will Rogers State Historic Park, we gatheredin celebration of Earth Day, and as part of TREEAMS’s commitment to mobilize the reforestation of this beloved state park.
We started where the land needed us most. California State Parks had already identified spots where invasive species were crowding out the natives, so before a single tree went in the ground, students and volunteers got to work clearing the way. Preparing the soil. Removing Invasive Plants. Resilient Palisades’ David Card, our mentor, guided the planting of one oak tree and two elderberry plants as a meaningfulbeginning to our work in the park.
Thank you to CA State Parks for inviting us to partner with them to help restore our amazing Will Rogers Park.

Join TREEAMS this Saturday, April 25th, 2026 for our EARTH DAY reforesting event at Will Rogers Historic State Park!
9-11am!
We’re so pleased pronounce that in direct collaboration with California State Park, and with our partners @janegoodallinst and @uclaseis, we have been granted the specia opportunity to reforest Will Roger’s State Park, which was severely affected by the Palisades Fire.
This weekend we will focus on removing invasive species in preparation for re-planting and re-foresting a beautiful corner of the Park, up above the current horse paddocks.
Will Rogers State Park is beloved, not just to local Palisadians and Malibu residents, but also Los Angeles at large. This event is the first of many within our mission and vision for replanting Los Angeles post fires.
We’ll see you this weekend where you can participate, learn more about an exciting announcement and contest launch as part of our forthcoming initiatives, as well as be one with nature in a space so near and dear to all of our hearts, here in the special city.
Follow the TREEAMS signs!

The Los Angeles Times (April 23, 2026, CA section) featured the launch of the TREEAMS nursery at @efacademy_pasadena.
TREEAMS, envisioned by Dr. Jane Goodall and Margarita Pagliai, @margarita.pagliai founder of @sevenarrows.k6 and Little Dolphins Preschool @littledolphinsbythesea, is bringing young people across Los Angeles together to take action and reimagine a greener, more sustainable future in the aftermath of the 2025 fires.
Students from St. Mark’s School @saint_marks_school_altadena and Seven Arrows Elementary both lost their campuses in the Altadena and Palisades fires. In the immediate aftermath, EF Academy welcomed St. Mark’s students to its Pasadena campus, where they continue to learn today. What began as a crisis has become a powerful collaboration building unity and connection across schools.
This week, EF Academy and Saint Mark’s students planted 30 native California trees, including sycamores and coast live oaks. Students will care for these trees as they grow, preparing them for replanting in fire-affected areas throughout the community.
On May 19, Seven Arrows Elementary will launch its own TREEAMS nursery as part of a growing network of school-based nurseries across Los Angeles. These efforts are a critical step toward TREEAMS’ goal of planting 5,000 trees across Altadena, Pacific Palisades, and surrounding communities.
The students are leading the way.
Thank you @latimes for shining a light on what’s possible when young people are trusted to act.

✨A TREEAMS teams makes a dream team! 🌱 Students from Saint Mark’s and EF Academy came together to launch the first TREEAMS nursery, planting 30 native trees, including coast live oaks and sycamores. These trees will be nurtured over the next one to two years before being planted throughout Altadena and shared with community members at no cost, helping restore what was lost in the Eaton Fire and bring new life back to the neighborhoods we love.
With the support of generous partners who provided the trees and mulch, and inspired by Dr. Jane Goodall’s vision of youth-led environmental stewardship, our students stepped into something bigger than themselves, truly living out our values of Be the Good and Learn for Life through meaningful action and hands-on impact. It was powerful to witness what truly feels like history in the making. 🌱

Yesterday morning, TREEAMS was featured at the Crossroads School Sustainability Fair, highlighted by @sophia.grace.g Sophia Guttentag and @sienna_dbf Sienna Díaz Barroso, co-founders of the student club One Health.
Sophia and Sienna also led our first TREEAMS environmental workshop designed by UCLA Department of Education and @ecorise. Sienna and Sophia taught the Crossroads fifth graders, bringing cross-age mentorship and hands-on learning about urban reforestation and ecological connection into the classroom.
We are grateful for our partnership with Crossroads and for the amazing students who are leading the way.

Students at EF Academy and Saint Mark’s School are prepping to launch the first TREEAMS nursery. They will be planting 30 native trees — coast live oaks and sycamores — nurturing them for the next 1-2 years until they are ready to be permanently planted in Altadena as rebuilding progresses.
April 21 · Earth Week · EF Academy Pasadena • TREEAMS Nursery launch 9:30–11am
From Dr. Goodall’s vision to these kids’ hands. The work continues.
